I did not try every feature, but I was able to sign into my self-hosted blog, read posts, and make a post complete with tags and categories. You will get some HTML tags when reading old posts but if you choose preview from the settings you can read it more like it looks to others. The HTML tags appear to be inserted by the app and are visible on screen, so VO is reading what's there. Some of the button labels are not that user friendly but they are descriptive enough. There are some oddities though. At the top VO will say "NavbarToggle." Next will be "NoteIconComment." Both bring up the menu when double tapped, and the first does not seem to bi visible on the screen. As with several other apps I have seen, if you keep swiping right through the menu you will eventually begin hearing the things under it. If you change your mind, "NavbarToggle" will do as it's label suggests and make the menu go away. "NavbarAdd" will take you to the new post screen. The only real problem I found was that at the bottom of the screen where you view or create posts is a series of icons. The last icon allows you to attach a photo, but it says "Cancel."

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Using Plug Ins on Wordpress

I have written a blog on wordpress for a ling time, but never made use of any of the plugins. I would like to add Twitter and Facebook to my blog to help generate more interactions and traffic. I spent about three hours today trying to do this on wordpress.com and read the instructions several times on how to do this, but when trying to do it found it very inaccessible. Has anyone successfully navigated wordpress beyond the posting blogs stage either through the website on a mac or using the iPhone app? Thanks

I just installed WordPress on my iPad Mini for the first time and see that the version is 4.0 and the UI is significantly different from previous descriptions in this thread. I would say that all buttons are clearly labeled and what content I have looked at on my self-hosted WP site is fully readable.

Do not turn visual editing on

When I have used wordpress after this last update, I didn't realize that I had visual editing turned on. However, even though the options button was labeled, editing a blog post either while creating it or trying to edit an old one was a nightmare. I went under settings and turned visual editing off, and the options button isn't labeled, but I know where it is, so I have no problem with that feature. Plugins in wordpress

I've just started a blog on wordpress.com and have found that you can't install plugins unless you have a paid account. However, if you use the Iphone app, it is possible to click on she Sharing option and add accounts such at linkedin, twitter and facebook.

I posted my second blog post this morning, and had a great deal of trouble navigating the wordpress ite uing VO on the mac with both the Wordpress app and the wordpress.com site i had written the bog in Text Edit, and wanted to paste it into the editor, but could only find where to place the title of the blog and not the body of it. Also, adding tags was very difficult. Can anyone offer any tips to make this easier? Editing was set to Visual.

To add the body text, it is the text field right after the separator.

turn visual editor off

If you turn the visual editor off, you can better navigate the new post area, where you input the title and content. There is a button that is unlabeled, that is your options button. Double tap that button and right flick until you find the text field where you enter tags, separated by a comma. do a two finger scrub to go back to the post area, then press publish. You may have to turn visual editor on to publish your post, the app on the iphone acts squirlly if you try to publish a post with the visual editor off. it just sits there and says "publish immediately local." Is the HTML editor accessible?

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can edit the HTML code with the visual editor on WordPress pages? I can't seem to find a way to do it with VoiceOver on both my iPhone and Safari on Mac.
