I am learning to use iBooks, but I have one major disappointment in that I cannot get Braille to sensibly and continuously scroll, and related to this, I cannot adjust the scrolling speed. If I press r-chord the display advances far too quickly - seeming to miss whole sections as it races to the end. Manually panning works smoothly, and auto page turning in settings functions properly for me. I have several displays to choose from, and the unhelpful autoscrolling happens regardless of display. Using an iPhone 6+ with latest operating system. Speech is muted. All suggestions appreciated - thank you.

That's a command for speech users
Hello.
The reason this isn't working is because it's not designed to auto-scroll with the display itself. The command is designed to start reading content from where the cursor is located, but even with speech turned off, it still is a function of VO speech. The best I can suggest is to try turning your speech rate down, as that is what effects the way in which VO scrolls using this command. I could never get a good enough fit to make it worth my while, so I just pan when I need to. I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but that's how Apple designed it.
understood
Thanks Scott. Cloarification is appreciated. I understand your comment regarding not getting a good fit when speech rate is adjusted down, so will take up the suggestion and experiment. However: hopefully Apple will make improvements to the braille interface, as independent autoscrolling regardless of speech status is a powerful function in my book. Vaughan.
Braille in VOiceDream Reader?
Hello. I've never gotten Braille to work properly in VoiceDream Reader. It seems to want to jump around. I have been reading in iBooks with the speech turned off, as I think it works better that way. Does anybody have tips for VoiceDream Reader? I'm using an iPhone 6S with iOS 9.3. Thanks.

The new version (4.0.3) is said to have fixed this scrolling issue, but as of yet I've yet to see it fixed. It still skips a line every time it scrolls for me. iBooks, Nook, and Kindle work much better.
Auto Scroll
I wish Apple would implement a continuous scrolling feature, especially if it's as adjustable as the Vario Ultra's implementation is. Keep sending feedback to them. If enough of us do it, maybe we'll get it.
