Dear applevis members,

My name is Dax and I'm graduating as an iOS Developer at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam
I've been making iOS applications for over 2 years now, most of them focussed on visual impaired users.

I've almost finished making an application called BlindSpot.
It has been developed specifically for visually impaired (VoiceOver) users.

In the application you can read and write reviews for iOS applications, which hopefully results in insights into the quality and usability of iOS applications for visually impaired people.

In short:
- Search for an application in the App Store;
- Review the application on different levels of accessibility, usability and labeling;
- The review will be saved in a database. We won't save and ask for any sensitive personal data;
- You can view reviews by different filters;

To registeren for the beta testing, click the following Google Form link:

I hope I've informed all of you enough.

If you would like to know more:
please send me an email to: dax.rahusen@gmail.com

Important: The application is localized (translated) in English, Dutch and Italian.

Greetings,

Dax Rahusen

Hi,

I feel that Applevis app directories already provide this service. Besides, the app directories here are established in the blind community.

Yeah but this is a website to have an app that can provide this information as well sounds neet! I say why not?

I would love to beta test your app.

sorry to rain on the parade, but apple probably will not let this in the appstore. they are very strick about what goes up. one of the rules is that you can't provide an alternative appstore or an appstore like app in the appstore. that not word-for-word, but its the jist. unless you specifically work with apple, you will probably have a hard time getting this app accepted.

It's not an app store persay, it's just a user compiled data base like applevis is. It would be neat if you could import the ios directory part into your app, then not much work needs to be done interms of adding new stuff. Hmm. Maybe a way to sync applevis's ios database with yours via mysql and ssh?

Blessings and happy Friday

If the developer really wanted to, I see great potential from creating a long-requested AppleVis app. However, I don't see that happening.

Dear community,

I like al the thoughtful comments regarding my application.
Just a quick note for the people who are registered for beta testing.

I'm doing an Internal Beta Testing, this means you first get an email from iTunes Connect. This is an app managing platform for Apple Developers. Please accept the invite in the email, or else I can't invite you for beta testing.

You might wonder, why Internal Testing?
I don't have to do an 'submit an application for review'. This goes way faster for testing purposes.

Many Thanks again for all the responses!

Ok, I am lost as to how we test this app. I never used connect before and have only used test flight. So, do we use test flight still? I followed the email and signed in with connect. How do we know when you proceed from there? lol I am lost.

First you accept the iTunes Connect email.
Then I sent you all a 'normal' Test Flight request where you can download the BlindSpot applications.

Ok, I understand That is what I thought but wasn’t sure. Well, I signed into connect through that email. Is that all that is needed? I didn’t actually see accept, just bunch on development and things.

By thunderhorse82 on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 09:11

Ok, I just got the invite through test flight. All set up now, thanks.

Hell, I didn't re an email with an invit. Did I something wrong?
Regards

The email is for iTunes connect, except it and he will send you the email to test the app through test flight.

By thunderhorse82 on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 09:11

Yes, when you signed up for a beta tester of the app you will be sent an email from the developer by apple about iTunes connect, sign up and then you will get an email to test the app through test flight at some point.

So i have to create a new apple id?
When I try to sign in i get this error messag: Your Apple ID isn't enabled for iTunes Connect. (2002)

By JeffB on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 09:11

Hi I put a different email than the one linked to my Apple ID. Is there anyway I can change this to resubmit it? I keep seeing that email even when I delete it.
