I'm considering getting a Mac mini. Is there any broadcasting software available to use on the Mac, e.g. a substitute for Station Playlist Studio, or Sam Broadcaster?
If there is, how accessible is it with Voiceover?
There are two packages you're going to need for your Mac. The first package is called nice cast. The second package you're going to need is called radio logic. Broadcasting on the Mac is going to be different and you will have extra steps that will need to be done. I would also like to know about Radio Logic. What can you do with it? Does it even come close to Station playlist studio, which is in my opinion one of the best radio software i've ever seen.

Hello all. i knew of nicecast, a friend used to broadcast where I was. if I remember right, she needed to record one long track of silence, so she could use that as her on air, voice brake. If you use nice cast how expensive is it, how expensive is the Radio Lodging and, how accessible with vo are these both? The girl i knew had some vision to use the nice cast. Thanks for any suggestions.
I use radiologic dj. the only thing that is not accessible are the lists for the songs, but they have itunes scripts for that. I talked to the author and they said they cannot make the lists accessible due to the fact it is not written in coco. I'm not happy about this but the itunes scripts he wrote work beautifuly.
Oh man, if Radiologik supported the ability to add apple Music stuff to the lists, I'd so be using it. I wish there was a way I could convert all that stuff to MP3 so that I could use it without buying it--after all, that's what I have apple Music for.
I did figure out how to use the NiceCast VoiceOver plugin, but the drawback is that I can't figure out how to use BGM beds with that. I'll record a long silence track to insert into my playlist for voice breaks to avoid having to pause iTunes just before the ending of a song.
Radiologik is the closest, most accessible app we'll come to an Station Playlist. Radiologik doesn't have a few features that SPL does, one in particular the random feature, where SPL will just add something to a set at random if you're not sure what to play at the current time, for instance.

I have both pieces of sotware and this would be good for me to loearn and get running so that I can get back to broadcasting on sky106. Right now, I have the demos of both programs. Would there be someone to sit with me via a Skype chat and help me with learning the software? I wish that Station playlist was available for the Mack but, it isn't. You use what's out there. Also, is there an alternative to virtual audio cable on the Mack? I would like to run something where I can bring co-hosts in on my shows like I've been doing for many years. For something like vertual audio cable I've been using loop back. This is how I did my youtube streams. You basically have apps and a mic, or in my case just an app to hear then set that as your main output on nicecast. There probably is a better way but I don't do guests on any of my stuff when I do decide to broadcast.
I can't get into my thick head how you can broadcast at all if you don't know what you're playing or what comes next. Sure you can memorize but memory often fails and at least I want to have full control over what i'm doing when playing carts, music and so on. The fact that the author of Radio Logic doesn't bother to make his application fully accessible because parts of it isn't written in Cocoa and he doesn't dare rewrite the app because of new bugs, as he said to me once is in my not so humble opinion a lame excuse for being lazy. I think everyone who really are seriously interested in going into internet broadcasting should write to the developer of Radiologik DJ and possibly his other apps as well and for lack of a better word demand full accessibility. As it stands now, as far as i know, we can't even take requests with Radiologik because we simply don't know where in the playlist we are and how much time there's left and if we put in a song in the playlist we don't know where it ends up. That is how i understand the situation right now.

We can't make a person do something. Yes, it's horrible that the software isn't accessible. I have to force quit everytime I want out of radio logik. The author didn't mention to nme about ITunes scripts. My thing is this, and it's sad to say it. If I have to give up something I've been doing for over 12 years, so be it. That's the nature of the beast. Would i like to keep broadcasting? Sure! Is it possible? Sure!

And with the included itunes scripts you have you can add stuff then bump it to the top of the queue or queue it next. It comes wiht tons of keyboard shortcuts you can set up and many different sources. I love it. We did write to the devs on the forums and email and I understand about a total rewrite. I'm working on a project from the ground up and frankly I'm not pleased about it as I should have done this and that to the first ideration of the project and now I need to start from the ground up. This is for me 2 years in the making.

Pretty sure it's on the mac app store, but if not, a quick google search will find it, and it's free. Gives you the option to choose several different input sources. Also used it for broadcasting services, so no experience using it for an actual radio program, as I have always done this in Windows via SPL or most recently Radioboss. Anyway, from what I remember, and it's been a bit, Ladiocast was pretty accessible.

I tried to find both Radio logic, and nice cast in the Apple mack Ap store, and they aren't there.
That might be
that might be because the devs who made them decided to host them on their own website, and not distribute them to the mac app store.
