Do you have a Mac and a blog? Do you wish you had an easy, accessible, and feature-rich program to help make writing and publishing your posts a snap? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then read on and enter to win a copy of MarsEdit - the blog editor for WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger and more. MarsEdit is an accessible, feature-rich blogging app for Mac OS X, and it was recently demonstrated by Mike Malarsie in a podcast.

As described on the MarsEdit website, MarsEdit's features include:

Rich And HTML Text Editing
Whether you love HTML or can't bear the sight of it, MarsEdit's editor will thrill you. If you prefer the best of both worlds, you can switch easily between the two.

Wildly Compatible
Works with WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, TypePad, Movable Type and any blog that supports a standard MetaWeblog or AtomPub interface.

Perfect Previews
Build a template to match your blog, then let MarsEdit's live preview show you how your posts will look before you publish them. Use Markdown? MarsEdit will preview that, too.

Your Editor Or Ours
Combine the power of MarsEdit with your favorite editor. Integrates cleanly with BBEdit, TextMate, WriteRoom, TextWrangler, or any editor that supports the ODBEditor suite.

Media At Your Fingertips
Quickly scan your iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, or Flickr libraries, and insert images into your blog post with the click of a button.

Easy File Uploads
Upload images and files directly to your blog, or attach them to a post for automatic upload-on-publish. MarsEdit will even resize them to suit your needs.

Re-Blog It!
Add our “Blog This” bookmarklet to your browser's button bar. Now when you discover something cool, you can start a new MarsEdit post with the click of a button.

Offline Freedom
Write when you want to, without an internet connection. Fine-tune your masterpiece on the boat, plane, or train, and publish when you get back online.

The developers of MarsEdit have very generously given the AppleVis community two promo codes for the app. MarsEdit usually sells for $39.99.

To enter to win one of these codes, simply write a comment on this post, explaining why you wish to win a copy of MarsEdit. The contest will end at 7:59 p.m. PDT on Friday, April 8, 2016, and two winners will be selected by random drawing. I wish to win a copy of mars edit, because as a beginning blogger, I feel that it would really help me get my feet wet, so to speak. the better start I can get from the get-go, the better.

I would love to win a promo code for this app as I have had a blog for about a year now, and have recently found it difficult to post things due to excess ability issues. I would love to be able to again post things more regularly without assistance from a sighted individual.

Hello,
I would like to join this contest as I have promised myself, for this year 2016, to make my blog about technology abuse and Internet addiction disorder, live again.
The best way to avoid abuse, is knowledge. So, that's why it's needed to talk about it.
And working on line is not Always the best solution and practice.
So, let me give it a try!

Hello,

I'd love to win a copy of Marsedit. I listened to the podcast and I was impressed by the power of the app. I've been modifying board games since the eighties so that they can be played by blind people, and with a tool like this, I'd start a blog to talk about how I do it, what works well, what doesn't.

Hello,
I keep a blong that Pelissippi state set up for me. I usually write about technology changes, and other issues that affect accessibility. I believe that this program will finally give me the chance to write freely, and also give me a professional feel.

Instead of just sitting like a bump on a log.
I could be using MarsEdit for my shiny new blog.

I would certainly love to win a promo code. I've got a blog with some friends where we review books, and have always wanted to see if this app was simpler than working with the WordPress site itself.
Thanks for this chance to win. :)

Hello,

I own one of the first ** and few ** blogs and to my knowledge the only podcast about assistive technology in portuguese, making people from Brazil, Portugal and other countries aware of Apple and other technology which improves lives and productivity of people around.

The platform is wordpress based and I won't post the link here because Applevis asked not to put personal information on the comments but I can provide the link should someone want to check it.

I do think that having n more eficient way to write down stuff than using the clutered WP admibnistration site would be really helpful for me cinse I do maintain a vast majority of stuff lonely.

I have two blogs, one of which is to discuss technology and other issues related to accessibility.
I could use MarsEdit to make postings things easier than using the Pages app and manually putting in the HTML code.

I'm a new Mac user. I maintain a personal WordPress log that I never seem to find time to write in. Maybe this will help, and since I'm likely to write about just about anything, maybe I'll brag on it a little publicly. I maintain another site for our church that uses Wordpress as its platform. It would be handy to have one place for managing both sites and 1 or two more that just might come to be.

Hi, I have always wanted to start my own blog. I have tried many apps and these apps haven't worked at all. I've tried using WordPress for iOS and no luck. The text fields are not accessible at all. They need to be labeled. As a developer, I want a way to promote an app that will be submitted to the app store in a few weeks. I also think that social media isn't enough for an app developer. This is why I want to get a blog started. Getting something like Mars Edit Will mean a lot to me. I plan to use this app every day just because the WordPress app has not been able to work for me for the past few months. Also, their website doesn't work for me either. I can't bring my computer with me everywhere I go. But, when I am at home and I want to use something accessible, I can use this wonderful piece of software. Mars Edit sounds like the app that I need. It is the app of my dreams.

I'd love a copy of this. I've been thinking of starting up a blog for years, but didn't know where to even begin. This seems like a good app that would help me get started. Anything to make the blogging process easier.

I would love to win a copy of Mars Edit. I love to write and get my thoughts and stories out to people. This is a great tool to get said items on the internet. Plus it is truly accessible and awesome. Kudos to the developers for making it so.

Many years ago, I set up a blog on Livejournal, but as the sight has changed, my frustration has grown.
Were I to have access to MarsEdit, it would make blogging great again.
Back in the days when I used a PC, I had access to a program that acted very much like this app does.
Blogging was so easy and fun as a result.

I'd love to win a copy of Mars Edit since I have my own wordpress blog and I'd love to be able to post via my Mac with ease, so that I don't always have to rely on my iPhone and iPad for posting. Plus, I've given the app a try and I love it. I love the accessibility to be able to post on my Mac without worrying about opening up a tab in Safari. This app is amazing!

Hello there,

I would like to win a copy of MARSEDIT. I wish to continue blogging to raise awareness regarding blindness, accessible technologies and PWD laws in my country. I was the second blind blogger here in the Philippines and the first one already ceased on blogging. I believe all of us deserve to win the promo code but please let me win this one.

Thank you!

Jhon

Hello.

I'm from Argentina and I'm in first year of journalism. My goal is to write a blog on politics and to write articles to raise awareness on the real nature of blindness which is not really known down here. That's why I think giving me the code will not be a waste of money.

I would love to win a copy of marsedit because it looks like a great program to blog straight from my mac.

By Pavel Ondra on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 08:12

I vould be very happy to win copy of this app, because it vould be much easier for me to manage both, my blog page and my official web page for work, both on wordpress. I already tested this app as a demo and i immediately liked it.

By Joey G on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 08:12

As a technology instructor for the blind and visually impaired, I feel it is certainly important for me and students alike to learn about any method of blogging possible. In my personal blog research, I have come across this software, and it is a wonderful tool. The accessibility is awesome. I have also listened to the podcast, Which I believe covered all the major features. I currently have the demo installed, and I intend to use it on a regular basis, as I am getting ready to start a blog of my own. Thanks to the MarsEdit team for great work.

By Dan Lococo on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 08:12

Yikes! I am planning on abandoning my Windows device and moving to Mac. I hadn't even thought of how I'd be able to maintain my blogs.

By rossy kk on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 08:12

I used the demo and it is really good software for posting on one or more wordpress blog. Has a lot of features and supports all the process from editing to posting. easy to use and really simple to setup.

By Piotr Machacz on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 08:12

I help with a podcast which is running on-top of wordpress, so marsedit's media management features would be quite useful. I also have a lot of ideas for things to blog about, so if I get this app it's going to motivate me to actually do something with my personal site which isn't really doing anything right now.
