Description of App
Ears Fortune Wheel is a fully accessible phrase guessing game for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play inspired by the game Wheel of Fortune.
You and your opponent take turns spinning a wheel to determine the cash prize you win if you guess a letter in the phrase,or the entire phrase, or you can buy a vowel. If you guessed right, you keep spinning the wheel and guessing more letters, until you determine the entire phrase. For example, one of the phrases in the game is "MORE FUN THAN A BARREL OF MONKEYS", and when the game starts out, it tells you that there are 7 words in the phrase and that the first word has 4 letters, the second word has 3 letters, the third word has 4 letters, and so on.
Ears Fortune Wheel was suggested by several blind gamers who enjoyed Word Games and Color Crush.

Definitely very fun
I agree; this app is very fun and at the same time challenging.
And another 1!!!!!
Always coming out with great fun games. and addicting. Help!!!!! Lol. Love this one to!!!!!
Great game
This is another great game. It is definitely challenging, but a lot of fun at the same time.
thanks
There are slews of categories too.
Posting scores
When i post my score to facebook it always says i won 0 dollars when I know i won more then that. Is this a bug?
Suggestions
Played the game and love it that we now have an accessible Wheel of Fortune clone game. Just a few things though, may I suggest perhaps not using coins when playing a practice game. It would give us a chance to get use to the controls without using our coins.
Another thing, I had some occasions when trying to spin the wheel, if VoiceOver focus was still on the keyboard, from my last turn, when I spun the wheel, somehow when I did the gesture, because focus was still on the keyboard, a letter was pressed so when the wheel stopped turning, it used the letter that was accidentally pressed, making me lose a turn. I don't know if it might be better to layout the letters similar to the way cards are in other games. Each letter, excluding the vowels, and you swipe right or left to move between letters, and when you find the one you want, you double tap. Same when you want to buy a vowel, instead of 21 letters, you have just the vowels. When the user wishes to solve the puzzle, then you could have the iOS keyboard appear.
If a person wishes to solve the puzzle, how do you go about doing that?
Either then that, great game, so far it's pretty fun and addictive.
Thanks
practice game
I think the practice game does not use coins.
I will collect the suggestions and come out with a revision once I get enough suggestions.
question for people...
I found a slew of phrases used in clones of card against humanity. If you've played this game, please reply here.
The first version of the game would let you put together the sentence, and hear computer players put together their sentences. I don't know how to score it though, since in the real world game, the players pick a winner. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Spin and Solve Playing Game Problem
I updated to IOS 9.3. I can navigate through the menus when I launch the game with VoiceOver. I have to turn off VoiceOver for me to play the game. The game gestures do not work with VoiceOver on when I play a game.
I really like this game! Keep up the great work!
Strange
Hmm thats strange. I updated my iPad and iPhone both to IOS 9.3 and I'm able to play this game still.
Able to play
I've also updated and have had no problems playing. I did run into the issue mentioned above, where I must have hit a letter as I tried to spin, and when the spin was over, it selected the letter and I lost a move. I've also had some sluggishness with the keyboard that caused the wrong letter to be selected a few times. I'm wondering if it would be possible to have an option where the letters are double-tapped, but not sure if that's feasible.
Double tapped
Hi Brooke. I'm able to double tap the letter. Do you have Voiceover on?
Love this game!
Hi:
I love playing this game. I have one suggestion. I would like to have the answer spoken out at the end of the game. When the computer wins I don't know what the answer was. Thanks for all of the fun games.
playing the game
this is just a suggestion. instead of separating the words like word 1 and 2. a better idea would be to have all the words in the same line with spaces between them and we won't have to keep swiping down to word 1 and 2 and so on. and I don't know how to solve the puzzle with out buying vowels. love this game.
Keyboard and entering letters
To enter letters, I think that you must use the same typing mode that you use when entering letters, e.g. standard typing, touch typing or direct touch typing. Before you choose your next letter, you must have heard the keyboard "swoosh" to indicate that the keyboard has disappeared and gestures are under the control of direct touch once more.
Solving the puzzle
To enter the whole solution, you must bring up the keyboard, then press the spacebar, then type your solution.
Buying vowels
You have to buy vowels to solve the puzzle; it's a part of the game, but you should try to let your opponent buy as many vowels as possible.
Another excellent game!
Hi! I've only just started playing Blindfold Spin And Solve, and I can already say that this is yet another excellent game in the Blindfold Games series: as others have said, it's a fun game but also challenging. I installed this game before updating my iPhone 6 to IOS 9.3, and played it after updating my phone: as usual, I didn't have to turn off VoiceOver when playing this game; Since it's the IOS keyboard that comes up to give us letters to choose, and I use touch typing with that keyboard, I didn't have to double-tap to choose a letter, which a user of standard typing would do: i have not yet accidentally chosen a letter when trying to spin the wheel either. I've only had time to play one practice game so far, and the practice game definitely used one of my coins: also, the solution wasn't said at the end of that practice game, but I don't know whether that's normal or whether I just did some gesture too quickly to give the game time to say the solution; I noticed a previous poster wondered how to play the game without buying vowels, so I wonder if that person thought the vowels were an in-app purchase: they aare definitely not one of those, the dollars used in each game are virtual, not real, so as long as you have at least 250 of those virtual dollars you can buy a vowel. Once again, three cheers for Kid Friendly Software for developing yet another great accessible IOS game!
end of game
You are probably tapping something on the screen when the computer's answer is read, I think. In any case, I will add a gesture to re-read the sentence after the game is over.
Success!
I figured out how to solve the problem I was having when I played the game. I had to change the typing mode in VoiceOver. I can play this fun and challenging game with VoiceOver turned on.
separating words
I don't see what the difference would be. There's a gesture to have everything read at once, I think.
thanks
This is great! Love this one thank you!!!
Practice and koins
I also noticed that practice mode uses koins.
word separation
I like the word separation as it is, one word per line. As it is, there is no mistaking a space for an empty space in a word.
A bug and sound effect suggestion.
I think I've found a bug. I've only duplicated it within the "Regular Game" mode. I haven't attempted to duplicate this within the other game modes.
If you complete a puzzle to where only vowels remain and then flick up to cycle through the words, it will use a coin and start a new game rather than cycling between the words like it's supposed to.
Other than this, the game plays very well! The sounds and music are great.
I would love to see a sound effect added so that when you guess a letter incorrectly, the audience gives a collective "Aww". It also might be fun to add a gong or buzzer or something when a bankrupt or lose a turn is spun.
Thanks for another great game!
Suggestion could we maybe
Suggestion could we maybe have a few rounds against the computer? I feel like after I win the first game my money resets, so there is no big objective other than to win each round, and beat my high score. I'd like to see maybe 2 out of 3 or something like that.
swiping
In the new version, after 20 seconds or so, a swipe up means start a new game after the prior game is over.
I think you can swipe down to hear the entire phrase again.
Best of 3?
Would you like a mode to keep your winnings from game to game, with the chance of complete bankrupt, or best of 3 or best of 7, or something else. Several people may want to voice their opinions.
Modes
I like the idea of having a mode where we can keep our winnings from game to game.
Swiping
So the swiping up in the new version allows you to start a new game when one is over. But does this fix the ability to swipe between words when the puzzle is NOT solved yet. Because that is the issue I was trying to describe.
When only vowels remain and I try to swipe up to move between the words to remind myself of the puzzle before making a guess, it starts a new game. And with that, uses another coin. I've lost several coins this way without being able to solve the puzzle.
Obviously doesn't do this before only vowels remain because it does allow me to move between words.
Thanks for any clarification.
swiping
I will check that bug.
I would like best of 3 or
I would like best of 3 or best of 7 would also be cool. I think your winnings should stay round to round. I wouldn't mind a complete bankrupt but the probibility I feel should be low on that if it were done.
Swipe up
Is this in the solo game, or when you play against the computer?
swipe up bug
As I stated in my first comment, I've only found this in "Regular Game" mode so far. So against the computer. I've duplicated it about 4 times now.
I haven't attempted to duplicate this within other game modes.
During gameplay, I can swipe up or down to move between each word with no problem. It only seems to be an issue when there are only vowels left in the puzzle.
When there are only vowels and I swipe up, it uses a coin and begins a new puzzle.
Thanks again for looking into this. And I hope you will consider my suggestions about sound effects.
vowels
The problem was that you touched the screen to spin the wheel when the computer was about to say that it solved the puzzle. Touching the screen stops talking. The next version won't let you do that.
I'm out of coins
Is there a way to get new coins when I run out without buying them?
swiping
Thank you Tim Schwartz. I had the same problem. I just didn't figure out what I had done. I only played the practice and solo games and quickly ran out of coins, as the practice did use coins. At some point, I'll get more coins and try again.
free coins
I may add coins for listening to videos in the future. Unfortunately, I thought that having that feature would generate a little bit of money though ads. I find that, across all of the games, it's generating less than $25 per month.
A few Bugs
I have purchased all of the category packs as upgrades. When I choose to play either a solo or regular game and to choose the category myself, it doesn't seem to play the category I have chosen. This seems to be a pretty consistent bug that I can replicate easily.
Secondly, I'm not sure if this is a bug in the game, but if you touch/press to long on the keyboard when selecting a letter when choosing a vowel, it changes to say "alternative characters available." There seems to be no way to get out of this mode--even lifting your finger off the screen and re-touching to choose a letter all you hear with voiceover is "alternative characters available", not the actual letters.
This is a great game aside from these bugs!
Picking categories.
I just tried this with the latest version, 1.5.2, and worked fine for me. I assume you also purchasd the pick category option?
Touching/pressing on the keyboard for a long time brings up the alternate keyboard. That's an iOS thing - I have no control.
Maybe you can change that somehow with the rotor settings? I'm not sure.
Re: Picking Categories
Trying to give more info, I just replicated it as follows.
1. I started the app, chose "Regular game, you pick category."
2. I selected "in the kitchen."
3. The correct category of "in the kitchen" was chosen and I played the game and won.
4. I went back to the main menu and chose "Regular game, you pick category."
5. I chose "Event: from the category list.
6. Instead of the correct category of "event" being played, it played "in the kitchen" again.
I am running version 1.5.2.
Category
Thanks for isolating the problem. It happens when you switch from one category to another. The workaround is to restart the game. I am fixing the bug and resubmitting to apple.
