I have a MacAir that's a couple of years old. For reasons I won't get into, I need to reinstall the operating system to fix a problem I'm having. Can I reinstall the operating system without sighted help?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

What Mac model is it? Specifically, what year Air is it? If it's a 2010 or 2011, you should be able to run Lion. Heck, I think the 2012 Airs are able to run Lion. So, do you have Lion in the Mac App Store under your purchases? If so, just download it to your disk. If not, you'll have to use internet recovery by pressing command option r at boot. If your Mac came with Lion, it will download and install Lion.

As for the install, it is completely accessible and has been since Tiger.

Thanks for the guidance. I was able to successfully purchase and install Lion on my MacAir. However, since the install I seem to be having a problem entering passwords. Every time I enter a secure field requiring me to enter a password, the first keystroke is not accepted which renders the password invalid.

I am able to enter passwords only by turning off VO, entering the password then turning VO back on. Prior to Lion I didn't have this problem.

Any suggestions?
