Impressive if truly fully accessible
Have you undertaken a range of projects with this application and truly found everything to be fully accessible? I don’t mean to be skeptical, but the nature, features and complexity of this application made me do a double-take when I saw it listed as fully accessible. That just seemed like a really big ask and a major achievement by the developer if true. Here’s hoping that my skepticism is misplaced (smiles)
Also how is the midi editor,
Also how is the midi editor, like if you need to edit a mistake, or chord. This has been my biggest beaf and challenge on osx, and other platforms.
Not really
I'm new to this huge app, but from what I see the app performance and accessibility has improved a lot. I need a bit of time to learn more about it and discover things with users like me. Hope you're one of them. :)
I'll help as much as I can.
Apple has made huge progress
Apple has made huge progress on the Logic front. We're at the point where one can fairly easily arrange a project. There are things that aren't accessible yet, but I've been pretty amazed at what is. The piano roll and such isn't yet as far as I can see, so it helps if you're a good player and are comfortable with using the cycle region to play over parts.
Edit: The usability rating should be change to reflect that the app is partially accessible.
Sure
Will change this right now. As you know, the app is still new to me. I am trying to enter the most accurate information as possible.
Awesome! Btw I forgot to say
Awesome! Btw I forgot to say that there's a Logic Pro X accessibility group on google, if you're interested:

Podcast
Hello. Could someone do a podcast on Logic Pro X? I'm looking into music technology, and am trying to find a powerful, acessible, mMac app for this. Thanks, Mitchell`
I'm not surprised the piano
I'm not surprised the piano role is not accessible. Most companies seem to have issues With this. I cannot play well, well enough to sort of accompany if I had to and stuff but yeah. Hopefully this can be discussed either here or the logic group.
Happy Monday to all.
Two Questions
How possible is it to perform the following tasks using VO in Logic Pro X?
1. Record a multitrack through an audio interface, and then edit said multitrack - adjusting relative volume, pan, effects, etc. of individual tracks, and then mixing down to a single exported file?
2. Importing a midi file of an original composition and then assigning virtual instruments to the different tracks and mixing to create a produced version of the composition?
Any experience any of you have with either of these would be awesome. I'm pretty bummed that there's no trial version available, as it's a lot of money to spend on something that may or may not even be able to do what I want...
Hi
Hi
You can do both things. since my last comment the piano roll has become more accessible btw.
With regards to importing midi into logic, it works pretty well. However, sometimes if ther is a metric modulation made by sibelius, Logic changes the tempo within the modulation, which it shouldn't. Apart from that midi works fine, and I'm sure you could probably fix the place where the tempo change occurs.
I haven't gotten around to look at metric modulation in Logic though, too little time at the moment, parden the pun.

Logic VS Garageband?
What can you do with Logic that you can't with Garageband? I'm thinking about getting it for my production stuff, in the studio but I would like to do the following. roles on high hats like on what hip hop producers use and some dubstep stuff. My dream is to be able to produce a good sounding thing that is professional. Yes, Garageband is good and for what I do with it, I can usually get it to sound quite professional, but I need more. and one more thing. Does Logic come with more instruments?

Flex
Hello, this is a great app but I did notice there’s not a lot of VoiceOver support for this app. Right now I am trying to figure out how to use flex bitch and no one seems to know how to use it with voiceover including Apple . I tried the Apple Pro Apps department, and Apple Accessibility. Do any of you? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hello all

Hi
Hi
Are you logged in to your Google account?
It's been a while since I joined, but that would be the only thing I'd think you need to do to see the join option. Please correct me if I'm wrong, if anyone knows better.

Logic 10.6.2 is out today
Hi all, David Earl here, your friendly neighborhood Logic Pro Product Manager.
Today we released 10.6.2. it is an update that was focused on getting one of our all-time-most-requested enhancements in ---- Plug-in Delay Compensation corrections for high latency plugins on auxiliaries, sidechain, and automation.
We are currently working very hard on some accessibility features that will show in upcoming releases, but they were not ready for this release.
We will see further enhancements in the future. It just took a lot for these specific fixes, and we wanted to be sure that you got this release right away.
Take good care,
David
Glad To See This
Hi David,
Thank you for the up-coming accessibility fixes. Can you hint at what they are?
X/Y Pad
Interact with the X/Y Pad layout area. VoiceOver should say:
In X/Y pad layout area X/Y pad layout item
The X/Y pad layout area contains one item, the X/Y pad layout item. This is the control dot or puck that a sighted user would drag around with a mouse pointer. VoiceOver users can move the control dot by pressing Command+VO+Accent. The accent key is beneath the Escape key. This is the VoiceOver move item function and VoiceOver should say something like:
Start moving layout item Simple-Complex 184 Soft-Loud 243
Move the control dot in increments of 20 using the arrow keys. VO+Arrow keys also move the control dot in increments of 20. Shift+VO+Arrow Keys move in increments of two. VoiceOver speaks all changes.
The X axis is Simple-Complex with left being the direction of simple and to the rightmore complex. Simple-Complex influences the complexity of the current drummer pattern.
The Y axis is Soft-Loud. Softer is down and louder is up. I read somewhere that louder causes the high hat to open up more and softer closes it more. Louder plays snare on the skin and soft plays snare on the rim. Do not hold me to whether this is exactly correct. I offer this just to let you know that there seems to be more going on with Soft-Loud than just velocity/volume control. This may be true for Simple-Complex as well.
When finished, press the Escape key to exit the move item function.
X/Y pad changes only apply to the currently selected region(s).
X/Y Pad
Regarding my previous comment:
"The Y axis is Soft-Loud. This may be true for Simple-Complex as well."
I thought of a way to test what X/Y Pad actualy does. I created a new project with a SoCal drummer track. The X/Y pad default was:
Simple-Complex 98 Soft-Loud 194. I converted the Drummer region into a MIDI region so that I could later examine it in the Piano Roll Editor. Next, I cranked Soft-Loud all the way up so that I now had:
Simple-Complex 98 Soft-Loud 243.
Again, I converted the Drummer region into a MIDI region. Next, I cranked Soft-Loud all the way down so I had:
Simple-Complex 98 Soft-Loud 0
And again, I converted the Drummer region into a MIDI region.
After comparing all three MIDI regions in the Piano Roll Editor, not only did note velocities change as you would expect but when Soft-Loud was 243, the snare was E1 which the General MIDI standard describes as Electric Snare. At Soft-Loud 194, the snare was D1 Acoustic Snare. At Soft-Loud 0, the snare was C#1 Side Stick. With regard to the open and closed hi-hats, there were only velocity changes.
Arranger Track
Hi,
Has anyone found a way to work with the Arranger track?
Thanks.
