Dictation and VoiceOver running into each other

I've been experiencing a problem recently when dictating e-mail messages or other items on my iPhone when using VoiceOver.

I am using an iPhone 6 and iOS 9.2.1.

The problem is that as I dictate, VoiceOver is trying to immediately speak back what I have entered. Then the phone hears what VoiceOver is speaking and will insert what it heard into the text.

For example, I will say something like:

"It is a nice day"

and as I am dictating VoiceOver can be heard to say "nice day".

Then the entered text becomes:
"It is a nice day nice day"

The procedure I use for dictating is to perform a two finger double tap, start speaking, and then perform a two finger double tap when I'm done speaking.

Is this a known bug? Are there any suggestions for avoiding this problem? Does Apple know about the problem?

thanks.

I only seem to have this problem when replying to a text message at the locked screen. This has been happening since the beginning of iOS9. I am now running iOS9.2.1, and am using an iPhone6.

Hello,
I have the same problem whenever I use the share option and try to email something. For example, forwarding a photograph, or a contact.
It does not however, happen when I send an email from the native email app.

My solution is to put my thumb over the speaker on the bottom right portion of my iPhone 6, when I am dictating.
Crude but effective. :-)

Nice idea putting your finger over the speaker. I like that.

I wonder if the other issue is how loud VoiceOver is and what the volume setting for VoiceOver is.

I did write to Apple Accessibility Support about this. It will be interesting to see what they say.
