On my MacBook while using VoiceOver and running Safari I can navigate through all the elements of the YouTube player. With QuickNav on, I can push the down and right arrow to work with most elements and manipulate them how I want to. But there are 2 slide bars (schuifbalken), no clue what the correct English term is. One for volume and one for determining the position in the video. Sighted people would normally slide them left or right by clicking and dragging their mouse. With VoiceOver, I can't seem to do anything with them. Does anyone know how to manipulate them? I don't care too much about the volume control, but skipping through parts of a video would be useful.
Greetings from the Netherlands.

Use the keyboard commands?
I don't know about the sliders, but you can always use the keyboard. Turn Quick Nav off, then use 1-0 to skip to 10%-100% of the video; j to skip back a bit; l to skip forward; and k to pause/play. There may be more, but those are the ones I know right off. If you enable VO's option to pass arrows to the webpage in the VO Utility, I believe up/down will then control the volume.
How do you enable VO's options to pass arrows to the webpage?
Dear Meghcap:
I am new to this system so I am still learning how to use VoiceOver.
Can you please give me a hint on how to enable VoiceOver's options to pass arrows to the webpage?
As a matter of fact, I have been trying to figure out how to adjust the volume when listening to a video or audio in youtube.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Be blessed.
Voiceover Utility
In the web category of Voiceover Utility, make sure the, "Always allow keyboard commands to navigate websites," checkbox is unchecked. If this option is selected, pressing the arrow keys on a webpage will be interpreted as navigating text as if the website had no keyboard commands of its own.
Also, if you want to adjust the volume of Youtube videos, navigate to the volume slider in the video player and use the left and right arrows. The up and down arrows may also work.
HTH
Hi,
Hi,
Yes, the up and down arrows do work to adjust the volume. Just navigate to the player area, the buttons will work, and use your up and down arrows to raise/lower volume, and left/right arrows to skip back and forward thru the video a few seconds.
HTH and good luck.
Also,I use chrome for youtube videos, as it seems like it works a little better most of the time, no advertisements in the videos.
Thanks
Thanks guys for all the tips. Will test them out.
