Hi,
I use mBraille as a third party keyboard as my primary keyboard. I find an extreme difficulty typing web addresses and email addresses. I use mBraille in grade two contracted Braille. Any tips would be greatly appreciated so I won't have to keep switching back and forth between mBraille and the iOs keyboard.
Thanks,
Moop

Hello!

If you have bought the full version of MBraille you can switch between contracted and uncontradded braille by holding down dot 6 and swiping towards the volume-buttons, a you can do in the native MBraille app.

I do not use English braille all that much, but this should work out regardless of the language.

Best regards Thomas

When MBraille first came out, I purchased it for what I believe was $24.99 or something around that. So I thought I should have the full version. But when I open the app and click on "restore purchase" it says that I only have the basic version. I also use MBraille a lot and also as my third party keyboard. I am using an iPhone 6S with the latest update of iOS and the latest update of MBraille. I just wanted to know how many versions there are and how I can tell which one I really have.

When MBraille first came out, you could make the purchase to unlock all of its features. In a later version, they added the ability to purchase the options related to the file manager (ie. the ability to save and open files from within MBraille). I am not certain, but I would guess the basic version is what you have purchased. Please note, however, that this is just a guess.

Hi joe!

That sounds like you have the "old" mbraille basic version.
If you want to, you can buy the mbraille keyboard, that in your case give access to file management and the mbraille keyboard, so you can use mbraille as a system keyboard on your phone.
I can't remember the price, but it isn't all that much for the rest of the features.
I hope this was helpful, if I can help you further please just comment here.
have a great day :)

Best regards Thomas

I also have mBraille set as my preferred keyboard on my iPad Mini 2. When responding to a mail message from within the mail application, my text isn't appearing for others to see when messages are sent. What am I doing wrong? I appreciate anyone's assistance with this.

Hi David!

I do not have an iPad myself, have you turned multitasking gestures off?
Have you tried to swipe towards the home button instead of up with three fingers? This changes the keyboard to the next keyboard you have installed, but if the text is pasted we might be able to tracks things down.

Hi Thomas. I have tried everything you suggested but it clearly isn't working out for me. Such a shame, as I think this is a great app. There doesn't seem to be a way to lock orientation whilst broiling, as is the case for Braille screen input. I persevered with this for quite a while but still could not get it to work.

Hi David!

I suggest you send this question to the MBraille maillinglist. Here the developer answers if users are having trouble with MBraille. I am out of suggestions for now, so please try on that list if you want more help.

Hi David!

You mentioned here that when you typed mails from the MBraille keyboard the text didnt show up.
I have ben thinking, and got a few questions left:
Can you see your text when dismissing the MBraille keyboard?
Can you describe the way you do a mail message from start to finish, so I can follow your steps to reproduce the issue.

Again, I do not own an iPad, but I will be happy to do some testings.

Best regards Thomas
