Hello everyone.
I was wondering how to select text with bookshare books in daisy text format.. When I open the folder containing the content, I go to the xhtml title and press cmd+o and Safari launches but the content of the book does not display. I've tried to reload the page but nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I came across a thread
I saw a thread that explained it; you have to change a setting in Safari. I'm not using Mac yet, but it worried me for when I do switch. Here's the link:

The next to last post gives instructions.
Do you know how to export the books as epub format?
Hi. I was wondering how to export the books from safari into EPUB format. I've successfully exported the books, but the table of contents do not appear after the books are exported. Also, I saved the pages, but when I tried to open them again an error message appears.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
I understand where you are going now
I'm sorry I can't help you more. I almost always read Daisy books right in the web browser, or in one of the iPhone apps like Read2go or Dream Reader. As I said, I'm not using Mac yet. You might have to select all the text of the book, copy it to the clipboard, then paste it into Pages, then export it to epub in Pages. That will not have all the headings and table of contents formatting, though.
Over on Windows and Linux, I know of programs that can convert XML to epub that might also run on Mac, but it doesn't work very well with the Daisy books. I've looked at the coding inside of a Bookshare book, and there is a lot of extra stuff that probably confuses the process of direct conversion.
Hope someone can give you a little better answer. Good luck. :D
Thank you. Do you know of any programs?
Hi. Thank you. Do you know of any programs that could assist me in this?
