Hi I wonder if someone knows how to open zip files on an iphone/iPad? I have tried win zip, I zip and filer but can't seem to find any option or any indication of how and where to open it. If it helps any, it is a series of MP3 audio tracks contained in a zip folder.
Any help with this is much appreciated as this is really annoying.
Cheers

Hello. Once you have an app to open zipped files, I have WinZip so I'll use that example. Go to the file you want and if it's in an email, go to the share menu. WinZip should be there.
Also there is a WinZip Pro but it costs $499 so not sure if you want to download it. It allows you to send large files through email.
Hope this helps

Actually the file was from the blind mice movie vault so the file I'm trying to download was on send space. I tried emailing it to myself to see if it would work that way but unfortunately it didn't. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

If you have Voice Dream Reader installed (I like the app a lot), you can use it to open zipped audio files.

VDR gives you lots of ways to open zipped files:

If you are opening a zipped file in Safari, double-tap on the file. The file will open in Safari, but you will not be able to see its contents. However, there should be a button labelled "Open In ...". Double tap on this button. An alert box should appear, showing you possible apps that you can use to open the zipped file. Select VDR. Once the file has loaded in VDR, double-tap to open it.

If you are using the VDR web browser, find the file and double-tap. The file will download and load in VDR. Double tap on the file to open it.

If you are e-mailing the file to yourself, tap on the "Open In ..." button and select VDR. Once the file has opened in VDR, double tap to open it.

If you are using a third-party app such as Dropbox, find the file and use the sharing options available within the third-party app to send the file to VDR.

I hope this helps.

The open in button does not appear to be showing up so what can I do now to access my zip files? Thanks
