Hello: I am trying to convert some large sound files from .wav to .mp3 on a mac. I have iTunes, vlc media player and also sound studio. The latter doesn't seem to have an option for converting to mp3. I understand that this can be done on both iTunes and vlc, but I can't seem to get the hang of doing this. Can anyone give me advice on the easiest way to do this? Alternatively is there an easier solution by way of another program that would allow me to convert to .mp3 easily. Thanks for the help.

Hi Skyhook, I use Switch, made by NCH Software. There is both a free and paid version, but I see no reason to upgrade as the program still works. It is very accessible; even more so than on Windows. I use it to convert the iTunes tracks I buy into mp3 for playback on the special blindness players that don't support m4a. Let me know if you have any further questions about the program or conversion process.

Thanks for your comments which are both invaluable and appreciated. Thank you particularly Chelsea for answering both of my longstanding questions. I'll give switch a try and let you know how it goes.
