trying to record in djay Pro for mac

macOS and Mac Apps

Hi.
I've just purchased djay Pro for the mac.
I'm very happy with it so far.
And it must be the most accessible DJ app for those who are totally blind, like I am.
But now, I'm having a problem with recording my mixes.
When I press command + R, VO says start recording stop recording.
The next time I press that command, VO says the same.
Does that mean this function is not working, perhaps due to some settings?
Or does VO say the same , thing whether the recording is either started or stopped?
I'm also wondering where recordings are stored.
I've searched the developers website, but couldn't find any information about it.
And what about the sampler?
It doesn't seam to work either.
I think I red somewhere on this site that it doesn't work with VO.
Is that so?
Hope someone here can answer me.

Hi,

I'm a bit late to this post, but will try help out anyway.
First off, for some reason when you go to record VoiceOver always says start/stop recording. I think this is just a slight bug with the app but it does work. For me, when I press command +R it says "start/stop recording checked", which means it is recording, then when I press command +R again to stop it, VO just says "start/stop recording". So if it says checked at the end, it's recording, and if it just says "start/stop recording" then it's stopped recording. Hopefully this makes sense.
As for finding your recorded files, I had the same issue and contacted the developers about it and they helped me find it. In my case, they're stored in /Macintosh HD / Users / callum / Library / Containers / com.algoriddim.djay-pro-mac / Data / Library / Application Support / Algoriddim / Recordings. You might want to try there, obviously replacing "callum" with your own username.
According to the developer, they're also sometimes stored in /library / application support / Algoriddim / recordings. I'd recommend creating an alias for this folder because it's unlikely you'll remember all that! I've created one and put it in my music folder.

To use the sampler, you press command +G and VO should announce "show sampler". Now, nothing will change on the screen, but all keys from X to M will play the different samples. You can also press option and any of those keys to play more samples.

Hope this helps, and feel free to get in touch with me if there's anything else you need help with.
