IPod classic question

I know this is an old device, but you could at least about 10 years or so download a software kit called RockBox which would make the iPod or other hard disk based music player speak titles, or menu options. it is not flexible like VoiceOver, but that's really all you have with the classic iPods. Personally I'd recommend getting the 128 GB iPod 6th gen touch, or whatever the latest version of that is nowadays.

Keep in mind if you're gonna use rockbox, all information outside of the menus, including artist/album/song info, will be completely spelled out. Remember that Rockbox never was, and never will be, designed for the blind. The vocie guidance was apparently only designed as a means to use an mp3 player without taking it out of your pocket. If you're ok with that, then go ahead with rockbox. I personally used the iTell in my ipod classic days, which worked perfectly, although those are expensive for what you get, have no repeat settings, and can only access the hard drive of the device, essentially playing files and that's it. For a classic without extra features like the nanos, this is totally fine if you're fine without repeat.
