Podcast app data

Hi. For some reason my Podcast app is increasing in size and I'm not actually downloading any content. I've used the Memory & Disc Scanner Pro app to delete all junk files but the Podcast app hasn't reduced in size. I've even deleted my subscriptions but this hasn't made any difference what so ever. I am thinking of resetting my phone to factory by erasing all data and content but I will wait for any responses first. I will use another Podcast client as this native app is just not what I'm looking for.

Hi, I have noticed the same. I mainly use Overcast but wanted to look at the default Apple Podcasts app. So I downloaded a few podcast episodes and deleted them later but it didn't reclaim the space. Really don't like it when that happens.

Give one of the podcast apps I've mentioned above a try. In my opinion, I've actually found the default app to be more confusing in terms of the user interface, compared to Overcast and Downcast which I find much easier to understand and comprehend from a Voiceover perspective.

I know I didn't answer your question, but I hope that you may get better satisfaction between either Downcast or Overcast, which ever one best suits your needs, should you decide to investigate an alternative podcast app.

Hi. Thanks for the recommendation and I will try both of those.

If you are trying new podcast apps, consider iCatcher. It has lots of features, is updated regularly, and is fully accessible. The developer fixes things when requested too.
