Description of App

It’s the first-ever mobile action-adventure game without video – where ears replace eyes!
Discover the original, innovative sensory experience of binaural 3D sound.

HEADPHONES ARE COMPULSORY!

Your eyes will be of no help.
So close them, sharpen your hearing and your blade…
And embark on an epic, perilous rite of passage.

How do you play?

Put on your headphones and use your smartphone’s touchscreen like a joystick:

- to move around freely;
- to fight using your sword;
- to defend yourself and protect yourself with your shield;
- to repel your enemies and perform combos!

Live the adventures of Edward Blake, the famous blind knight! Guided by your daughter Louise, you must find your way and avoid the many traps that lie in store in the High Castle Kingdom, while confronting dangerous enemies!

The game is fully accessible to visually impaired people, and is aimed at anyone who’s eager for an original, immersive sensory experience through a ground-breaking video game. And because the player is the character, it will help raise public awareness of this kind of disability.

It was co-created thanks to support from a community of fans who helped with the crowdfunding campaign (www.ulule.com/a-blind-legend) and in a co-production with France Culture, a Radio France station.

This type of hack-and-slash game, with a heroic-fantasy flavour, harnesses the innovative technology of binaural sound, which delivers a gripping 3D soundscape and brings characters and actions vividly to life around the player – as if they were actually in the game!

When you hear the thing growling, put your shield up. When it's about to attack, release your shield, inabling you to hit it a few times. I hopes this helps oyu my friend. :)

By alex wallis on Monday, November 23, 2015 - 07:55

I can never quite get the timing right with lowering the shield before an attack to allow several hits.
The demon is also giving me trouble I did read the comment about attacking when its shouting but it didn't really help.
Also the gesture for the shield really isn't good pinching on the screen for a long time can be very painful I have said this to the developers in a support email, also I really hate having to start levels completely over.
In my view you win a fight so it should save fair and square its not fair to make you keep fighting the same boss over and over if you beat it once.
The problem is peoples reflexes can be different so they should allow for different difficulty levels.
I also find with the shield my fingers sometimes slip on the screen so it comes down when I don't mean it to and so I die.

i am having trouble with the guard room, i can get past the room itself, but then louise says to hurry, then some guards start to move and eventually catch me from behind. any spoilers appreciated, i am not sure if i must turn or just try and run straight forward, as i think louise is going to the left after saying hurry, but its difficult to tell the footsteps of the guards really make it hard to follow her. sometimes i can get to the windy bit but i am always eventually caught. i get past the room where the game is being played, these guards are quiet till they start to move.

Call me a fool, but I am confused as to what is going on in this scene. It is the one where you carry your daughter after the previous scene where she is injured by the arrows. I hear a crumbling sound, I think that the ground may be breaking away or something is falling and it kills me every time.. lol I fill silly on this one but can someone let me know what is going on.

By sockhopsinger on Monday, November 23, 2015 - 07:55

Scene 16 has what I think is rushing water. Make sure you do not aime for that. Aim for the humming and the bells.

By thunderhorse82 on Monday, November 23, 2015 - 07:55

lol Didn’t even think of that for some reason, will try that. Thanks.

I keep getting caught by the guards in the alley scene because when I attempt to move forward, the game sometimes won't recognize the command or will freeze for a few seconds. I've had this problem throughout the entire game, but it hasn't mattered much until now. Combat works smoothly. I'm running v. 1.1.4 of the app on an iPhone 5s (iOS 9.1). Anyone have a similar issue and resolve it? I've tried closing and reopening the app and restarting my iPhone.

It crashes after you get a sord and when it says loading. I have a iPad Mini. I reinstalled the app. Still crashes.

Hi,
There seems to be no warning when the arrow hits me. I also can't tell most of the time that my rowing motion is working. Sometimes, no matter how fast I row, nothing seems to happen.

hi. When the aros come at you, I try to block but I keep dying. What am I doing wrong. Do the aros shoot from the front or back?

By Justin on Monday, November 23, 2015 - 07:55

The only way to block them is use your sword and swipe in the direction they come from, in front left or right. Theres no way to tell if there in back or front they are the same.

I'm stuck trying to kill the flying monster in scene 11; on the ice mountain after walking the ledge. The 2nd time t gets in front of me my sward has no affect. Is this a bug? can anyone help?

By tunmi13 on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 07:55

Pinching causes my fingers to puff up, I wish the developer could change the pinching to block feature into like a three finger tap and hold on the screen or something.

By kool_turk on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 07:55

If we were to use that method, you'd get hit before you pull off that gesture.

I do agree, the pinch needs to change.

While I don't have trouble with it, sometimes it gets stuck and the only way to get it unstuck is to let yourself get hit.

I've been stuck at the alley scene for a while now.

I keep getting cought when trying to make it to the ladder to get to the roof.

By the time I turn to face Louise and run to the roof the soldiers get me.

Is it as simple as being quicker, or am I missing something.

For the ladder part of the ally scene, you just have to keep running and listen to Louise while at it.

At the ladder part of the alley scene, you just have to keep moving and listen for Louise while at it.

By kool_turk on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 07:55

Thanks, by some miracle I managed to get past that scene.

I'm now up to the rooftop scene.

Regarding the question a few posts back, you need to block a lot and memorise the marauder's attack.

It took me a while to pass that bit too.

By Apple Khmer on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 07:55

Have fun then. There's going to be a lot of jumping and blocking from arrows.

By kool_turk on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 07:55

Well I must say, after getting past the rooftop scene, there really wasn't much to it.

the final fight was easy, I killed him on my second try.

I only wish it wasn't one of those games that have you lose interest once you've finished playing.

Hi guys.
In scene 19 of a blind legend, how can I cut the rope?
Can someone help?
Thanks!

By Riikka H on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 07:55

After following Louise through the market Place and struggling with soldiers: How can I defeat maybe the fourth one? I tried to use the blocking gesture because he sounds to strike twice, and I thought it would be like first blocking and then attacking right on. But it seems not to help.

Also, strangely, the second soldier sometimes hits twice in a row, sometimes not. Can anyone help me?

By Apple Khmer on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 07:55

Hold up your shield, let them attack you, and pay attention to their patterns. When you'er confident with that, release your shield and attack when appropriate.

Hi!
Thanks for the help.
I just passed the level 19.
I was stuck at level 19 for a months!
Thanks once again. :3

Adding on to the previous comment, look at the enemy's weakness. What speed does that enemy attack at? And how much time does the enemy take to attack? For example, the brain eater would be considered a slow attacker, but if you battle the king, he's a fast and nk attacker.

By Ornella on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 07:55

I got this game a few days ago and I'm stuck at scene 10 where I keep falling off the cliff I think. It was a battle to figure out scene 9 but I know I will get scene 10 soon. and I was reading earlier comments and I'm running this game on an I phone 4 s and never crashed on me. I'm using ios 9.3

By Raul on Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 07:55

Is there any big difference between the iPhone and Steam version? I'm planing to buy it but I'm curious about this

By Paraskevi Dragogia on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

You might have already explained it many times in privious comments, but I still can not understand how to pass the king's soldiers when I get out of the cave which my daughter and I have used as a shelter. She tells me to hide behind the waterfall. I keep following her instructions in order to get there, but the guards always reach me and I get killed. Perhaps, I am too slow. Could anyone tell me what to do once more, please?

By JeffB on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

Its tough to do and they kept killing me for the longist time. The trick is to keep running and try to head to the sound of the water. I think I may have even started over to practice navagating.

By Joseph on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

Heh. I don't mean to brag, but I was able to get it on the first time. It's a fun game.

By Ornella on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

I keep falling off the cliff no matter how slow I try to walk. lol.

Thanks for your help. I tried to follow the sound of the water and, somehow, I managed to hide before the guards reached me. Thank you.

By Joseph on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

I'm at the part where you have to cross over the bridge, and i keep getting killed by that really big SOB. Any help you guys can give would be awesome.

By Khalfan Bin Dhaher on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

First, make sure you hit the monsters at the right opponent. Not too early, or too late. Try to focus on his sounds clearly especially when he is breathing. Another useful hint for you is to put on your shield by scrubbing with two fingers and keep them on until he hits you again and again. During this time, listen carefully when he's about to hit you and prepare yourself. Just wait for the right moment, don't rush.
Enjoy and good luck.

By Joseph on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

that much I get. but how would i know when the right moment is?

By KE7ZUM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

You practice and practice some more. You will get it eventally.

By Joseph on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

Heh. fair enough.

By JeffB on Thursday, June 23, 2016 - 07:55

I’m having trouble with scene 16 in A Blind Legend. I can kill the Wildboar, but then the demon base mean fire and I don’t know how to survive. I did it about a year and a half ago and I don’t know how to replicate that action. Any help would be appreciated

By tunmi13 on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 07:55

The demon uses spells. This means that if you try to stun her, it doesn't work. Instead, you must hold up your shield, listen for when she takes her stance, and just before she releases her spell, hit her with her sword. You will hear wind blowing after a while, which means she's teleporting.
Once she's teleported, you should hear a little woosh. And get ready again. Hold up your shield. Wait. Before the attack, hit her. She will then teleport again.
She will do this about 4 or so times.
Eventually, she will get mad and say, "You must die!"
She will then yell a battle cry as a killing spell is coming toward you, quickly strike her so the spell is broken. From there, the scene is automatically played.
Hope this helps.

By Maranatà on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 07:55

What changes in the game by selecting HARDCORE difficulty?

By sockhopsinger on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 07:55

As far as I can tell, there are no changes. I don't know why they even bother to call it that. I had hoped at least the voice telling you how to do things when you start the game would be cut out, assuming that since you are on hard mode, you would already know how to block, how to strike with your sword, etc.

By tunmi13 on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 07:55

The only change I saw was when Louise collapses from an arrow, and you draw your sword.
I've noticed that in HC, it seems the arrows fly pretty quickly than in normal mode. Other than that, this isn't considered harcore in my oppinion.
What I would call hardcore is removing all vocal prompts, make the enemies quicker and do more damage, etc etc.

By Igna Triay on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 07:55

the other change in hardcore is that enemies can attack you from behind as well.
