Braille on Apple Products
Hi all
Can anyone tell me how to enter some special characters via the built in Braille keyboard of IOS? Here are my list of the most common ones I want to use:
& ê ë ô
I understand that you are using the Braille screen Input of iOS. In this case, you may find it helpful to adjust the Braille Code to that of your language and region. The braille symbols are the same as for the regular braille code. I could say the exact way to type the symbols above, but I do not know what braille code you are using. Basically, if you know the regular way that these symbols would be written in paper-braille, it is the same on iOS.
The braille code used by iOS braille screen input matches the language of the on-screen keyboard. So, you make sure that the iOS keyboard is set to the language where you want the characters from, like German if you want umlauts, and then when you activate braille screen input it will be using the german braille code so to type one in you just do whatever you'd normally do in German braille to get an umlaut.
