Hello all,
I scanned a document in KNFB and then I saved it to my dropbox as a text file. I then wanted to open up that file in notes so I could edit it. How in the world do you do this? I could not figure it out. Once I opened dropbox and found the file I wanted to edit, I could not find out how. I shared the document with notes and all I ever found was an edit field with some kind of link in it. All that link did was open the file and let me look at it but not edit. I even tried sharing it with the drafts app but still no luck. Either I am missing something or this is extremely convoluted.

I agree.
I think we need to use a third-party app. I think
Notes will only open plain text files. Another problem is that I cannot share notes that I make on my iPhone with dropbox.
I don't think you can really
I don't think you can really do this with Apple's Notes app. It syncs itself on iCloud but doesn't work so well with Dropbox as far as I know.
I use a 3rd party app called Notesy which is pretty good if you're happy with plain text files.
Editting or viewing note from dropbox.
I don't know why whenever I was trying to view something from the dropbox, it is showing me the context sometimes and it is not showing it most the time.
I mean, I usually save my passwords or important conversations as a notepad in the dropbox under personal foulder and whenever I want to view that from my laptop, I'll just open and view it. The same was working even with the iPhone earlier. Even once, yesterday, I was able to view one of my passwords which was in the dropbox as a notepad. But I tried viewing that next time, But I can see only the stupid action menu and share blah blah blah. Any solutions?

testing opening documents in iOS Dropbox
Hi Raaj. You may need to remove and reinstall Dropbox if you continue to have problems.
Are you using the recent tab? I just discovered how to make files available off line in iOS Dropbox.
Just testing opening .txt, .rtf, and .pdf files on my iPhone. So far, all can be viewed. The text is in the center of the window.I don't flick left or right. Found the text by touching the screen near the middle instead. Flicking when you first open a file just skips right past the text and goes to those action and sharing controls.
But, once I get focus on the text by touching it, I can flick left and right through the text. I just discovered I can spread two fingers to select text
The problem is navigating and selecting text from that window is kind of hard to do. And I can't edit from there. Instead I need
to send to another app. iOS Notes isn't listed in the sharing screen . So, it looks like Dropbox has nothing to do with Notes. I'll use Daves suggestion and try another note taking app. I just wanted to use the built in app because it is fairly universal and simple.
The pdf files seem to open in something like Ibooks as I can swipe with 3 fingers to change pages and hear the sound that tells me pages are turning.
Some audio files open in a video window where I may need to double tap to show playback controls.
