Hello, I am attempting to learn some basic Spanish. Are there any apps for the iphone that are primarily auditory driven?

I know that this post is slightly older, but I saw it and decided to share some info.

There is a fantastic podcast that will give you a great introduction to Spanish. What's nice about this series of shows is that you can continue going forward to the more upper level episodes. I can normally access it via the podcasts app. Search for Coffee Break Spanish and it should come up. Good luck.

I think DuoLingo would do the job you want it to do. It's mostly listening to voices saying things in languages (including Spanish, of course), and you translating to English, or vice versa. It does have some visual aspects, but they aren't necessary to the running of the app. Also, it has a question type in which it says something and you have to replicate it. Sometimes you have to read English-spoken Spanish (or whatever language) words, but spelling by the letter what you don't recognize gets you everywhere you need to go.

Chiming in my two cents!
