Notifications in Mail App

Is there any way to set notifications for the native Mail app to make them come up like those, say, of Facebook?

In other words, how do I get a notification to come up on my Lock Screen whenever I receive a new e-mail message?

I tried going into Settings > Notifications and setting "show on lock screen" on and setting banner alerts when my screen is unlocked. Still, I have since received new messages and have not received any alerts on my Lock Screen or otherwise since I set the settings.

Set that in notifications center under mail. I personally have all of that off as I get a lot of mail so I don't need a thousand of them a day.

Hi Misty,

I don't really use IOS Mail myself, but I wonder whether you need to adjust your Push Notifications for Mail?

Try going to Settings/Mail and checking whether you have Push Notifications enabled for all of your Accounts. If you have more than one account, select the button and check the status of each Mail Account.

I also wonder whether you may need to have the Mail App running for the notifications to work the way you want..?
