Looking for an accessible way to rip compact discs using aIFF. Hoping to put my CD collection on an external hard drive. Using iTunes is not practical in this case, as many of the titles are already MP3s. Also would appreciate any suggestions that would allow me to access and use the created library from my iPhone. Thanks

there is no way to use the
there is no way to use the library from your iPhone. and you don't rip aiff files, they are created. Why not just batch convert them, although why would you want to cheat by transcoding and loosing quality that's already lost due to artifacting.
iTunes would probably work as you can change the format in the prefs but if not try XLD.
I have several hundred songs
I have several hundred songs using iTunes on my iPhone now. I don't want to change that. I do want to rip all of my compact discs in AIF F files so that I can stream them throughout my house. I have recently found a program called express rip which might do the trick. Also, many audiophiles love a program called DB Amp Pro for this purpose, but I haven't played with it to know if it is accessible. Does anyone have experience with this program? I asked a question about the iPhone because I would like to use it to navigate my newly created library. I can do that through Sonos or bluesound, but that would require purchasing more equipment. I'm hoping to find an accessible app that would allow me to select specific songs, artists, etc. Thanks
Again, you cannot do this
Again, you cannot do this from your iphone. You would need to transfer those to yoru mac.and why would you use aiff? Wy not use mp3 at 320kbps at 44.1k? That is as close to cd quality, actually better, then you will get.
COrrect
This is correct. AIFF files, as far as I know, cannot be used by iPhones or any iOS devices. You're better off ripping to 320 K 44.1 KHZ mp3 or something similiar, possibly AAC if you can.
dbpower amp not the best for voice over users
I've used dbpower amp on Windows in the past, before sight became more of an issue. presently switching to Mac OS from Windows OS and downloading the most recent paid for ver of DBpower it is not a friendly app using voice over only.
the mouse/cursor MUST be used at times to properly configure and operate this app.
IF one is able to use both VO keys and a mouse, perhaps by enlarging the screen, this is a superb app. otherwise, its just a waste of time and money.
beware too, the support is only via forum.
Good luck.
