Amazon account for Kindle app?

Hi, I just downloaded the Kindle app for iOS. I am a middle schooler and I am looking for voiceover compatible reading apps, however my friend recommended the Kindle app.
Are you supposed to go to Amazon's website to create an account?

Yes, you'll need an Amazon account to associate with the Kindle app. You'll need to create the account on the Amazon website. Note that the same account can be used for Audible as well as the Amazon site itself and its various affiliates.
