hi. I have no idea what's happening with my phone, it might be a bug but I'm unable to upgrade over the air. when I go into the software update setting I can see that IOS 9 has been released and some new features of it but I don't have a button to upgrade and I can't find it on the screen. the only button that I can click on the screen is the button to view more about this release of IOS but that brings up only some pages of new features, and when I'm on that button oddly I can't move if I flick left and right I have to touch somewhere else if I want to get to an other button. I mention that I'm running IOS 8.4.1 on an iphone 4s. any help would be appreciated...

Swiping in these areas is rather unreliable. To update try exploring the screen by touching it and using the three finger slide up/down gestures to scroll. I haven't gotten iOS 9 yet but when I got iOS 8 it worked this way.

thanks for the tip, I finally did it with a bit of luck and determination :D the scrolling gesture helped a lot.

Hey, it's risky to upgrade an old iPhone 4s to iOS 9. Most problems can be solved by force rebooting your iPhone or putting it in recovery mode.

Step 1. Hold and Press Home & Power button for 10 seconds to reboot your iPhone. If it still stuck on Apple logo, you will need to put it in recovery mode.

Step 2. Plug the iPhone to your computer via the USB cable and make sure that the latest iTunes is installed.

Step 3. Press and hold Home & Power button for 10 seconds. Then release the power button but keep pressing the home button.

Step 4. You will see the Connect to iTunes screen and you can let go of the Home button.

Step 5. Now you can restore your iPhone with iTunes.

I upgraded successfully via wify. the problem was that I couldn't find the download and install button. the phone works smoothly now, it works even better than on IOS 8.4.1. I see that the responsiveness has improved a lot with the latest IOS.
