Blindfold Hopper

Category

Description of App

Blindfold Hopper is an fully accessible audio game that's a cross between the popular video game Frogger, and the frustratingly popular game iPhone game
Flappy Bird.

In Hopper, you are a frog sitting on a lily pad, and you need to jump to the next lily pad. Using head phones or ear buds, you hear the lily pads move
from one side of your head to the other. Each lily pad is represented by a different musical loop. When the lily pad is directly in front of you, tap the
phone to jump to the next lily pad.

You can move your lily pad left and right by swinging your arm or rotating your body, and you can jump to a lily pad in front of you, or behind you. Each
time you jump, the next lily pad comes a little bit faster. And if you stay on your lily pad too long, an alligator will eat you.

Blindfold Hopper was suggested by several blind gamers who enjoyed Blindfold Racer and Blindfold Crazy Eights.

There is a STARTER PACK in-app upgrade that unlocks the easy through insane levels of the game. We'll add more variants of Blindfold Hopper, such as extra
lives and power-ups in the future. Please let us know what features or challenges you would like in the game.

hello do you have to hold the phone in only the portrait mode?

By Clare Page on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

Hi! I installed Blindfold Hopper last night, and taught myself how to play it earlier this morning, and it's working fine for me in portrait mode: I have my iPhone 6 locked in portrait mode anyway, but that's just my personal preference. As for the game itself, I agree with the comment above that Blindfold Hopper is definitely challenging, but good fun too. I particularly like the setting where you can choose how much you want to swing your arm to turn towards a lily-pad: this setting can go from moving your entire body to simply turning the i-device in your hand, and I chose the latter so that I can play this game even when I am sitting somewhere where for whatever reason it's not possible to turn my whole body. After several practice games, I started playing the easy level of Blindfold Hopper, and I have already done the in-app purchase, as the free version only allowed me to score a few points before asking me to unlock the levels which allow me to play the game properly. I'm hardly an expert at Bllindfold Hopper yet, so I will probably not try the harder levels for a while. I certainly think it's a good idea to play a few practice games before doing the in-app purchase to unlock the other levels, to be sure whether you've got the hang of how to play Blindfold Hopper or not. I shall definitely enjoy playing this game, challenging as it can be.

I would be interested in hearing feedback from users!

By alex wallis on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

so is this game open ended for each level? or are there certain victory conditions where you can beat the game and reach an ultimate place of safety?

just for your info i have never beaten the game only got as high as 15 poihnts or so on insain level but that was luck:)

By Brian Giles on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

Really fun game, and I love the music. It would be awesome with game Center support though.

By Toonhead on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

This game is a lot of fun, I definitely like it a lot. Getting the frog in the dead center is definitely a challenge. It seems really simple, but it's not because if you move your arm the speed of things changes from time to time. You have to have fast reflexes with the game, and it's loads of fun.

By Jason on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

I just download the game yesterday and already in love with it. I even tried to play the game without wearing head phones or ear buds and it works very well for me anyway.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

No, there's no end of game safety. I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve it, so please give me more ideas about how the end of game should be - such as what sounds happen or what I tell the player, or what other prizes or hazards should be included at other levels, or how what other levels should be like.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

What would like it to do in game center - take turns playing against someone else, or just record your score, or add achievements as well?

By HarmonicaPlayer on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

In reply to by KidFriendlySoftware

it would be cool if it could do all mentioned in comment:) take turns against someone else, achievements, and record scoring:)

By raaj on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

I just installed that game after seeing that it's free here in this applevis. But it's not free actually. Only you can play the practice game for free, as far as I've noticed. So I'm sure it'll come on deal for free in a few weeks or months. let me wait till then.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

All of the blindfold games are free to play a little, to learn about it, and then there's usually an in-app upgrade for $3 to $5 based on how long it took to create the game. We don't do deals, since there just aren't that many people who end up downloading the games.

You'll find this in a lot of software. You can get a feel for how the game operates and whether you like it. If you like it, pay, and unlock the software to turn it into a full-blown game. The free trial is usually just scratching the surface as to what you'll get for your money. Based on what I have gotten from this developer, paying for the unlocking of this game will be worth the price.

By Ken Downey on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

I do really like what I have played so far, but there are definitely elements of the game, like having to cross the road and not get hit by a car, cross the grass without being eaten by snakes, grabbing flies to eat them, and finding your mate… All before you get to the finish line of each level!I must say though that what you have is a great start! I'm glad that I was able to convince you to jump into the 3-D world.

By TamagotchiTune on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

This is a really great fun game!!! I tried the insane level and it is a challenge but fun. My first try on the insane level i got 54 points! I love playing this.

By Clare Page on Thursday, April 23, 2015 - 20:42

After playing Blindfold Hopper for a couple of days now, I'm still thoroughly enjoying it. I'm not terribly good at it so far, my highest score being 11 points on the Easy level, so I can't see myself trying the Insane level any time soon. I rather like the idea of this game getting Game Center support, even if I get low scores and don't achieve much and possibly get beaten by any future opponents. Saying I'm not very good at this game is definitely not negative, I simply mean I know I need a lot more practice at it. I've found the in-app purchase to be well wortth making to get me beyond the Practice mode and be able to play the other modes as much as I want, even though I've stuck to the Easy one so far.

Overall I am enjoying this game but I am having a few problems and i am going to paste the email that I sent them.

I completed an offer and I did not get my quoins so I went to the missing coins screen and submitted a request after that it says an error message about something went wrong and ever since then it says no offers at this time every time I try to complete one. I have also discovered a few bugs in the app. One sometimes you can only hear the Riversound and can not hear the music of the lily pads and then you die. 2 sometimes when you start the game before the speech is finished you hear no sound and then you die and have to restart. 3 I am wondering if you are supposed to get double points when you save the game even if you did not purchase the faster points pack because that is what is happening to me. I am contacting Tapjoy about the coin issue.
I've heard the issue with the music before; it relates to a bug in the audio system we are using - from what other people have told me, the same problem happens in papa sangre from time to time. We use the audio system created by the papa sangre people. I am contacting them to see if they have a fix. In the meantime, when that occurs, what gesture would you like to make, so the game can continue to be played?

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - 20:42

for the double save points yu can set that in settings in the gam eplay section therein.

good luck.

By Jessica Brown on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - 20:42

I don't think swipe right with 1 finger is used anywhere in the game yet so unless I am wrong and it is used somewhere I think that would be a good one.

By Jessica Brown on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - 20:42

Hi. Now the error message is gone and I can look at offers again. I looked at all them and they are mostly questions with pictures that I can not see or web games that do not work with VoiceOver. I think for this and all your other games you should use iAds and videos after each game instead of using external sources like tapjoy.

By Vsevolod Popov on Friday, October 23, 2015 - 20:42

Hello. I'm really enjoying this game. Can you please add game center support for it? I want to see a leaderbord, acheevments, and playing with other people if it's possible. Thank you.

By KE7ZUM on Friday, October 23, 2015 - 20:42

I don't think playign wiht other people would be possible due t the speed and tricks you can use. I do agree about the coins. wish it were as easy as dice world as earning gold is very easy over there. watch a video push a button and gold is earned wit in 2 seconds afterwords. Over all loving the game.

Tke care.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Friday, October 23, 2015 - 20:42

There's a new version of hopper coming that uses the same system as diceworld.

I just got the game and the entire bundle and am completely hooked. I am getting better and it’s fun that my frog gives comments to me. It is very amusing. I love the musical lilly pads. I have only played the easy level and am going to be really good at that before getting up to level two. This is a very adictive game and I love it. I can’t wait until I get to the aligator, flies and eagles. I love the podcast Khalfan did as well. It was very amusing and very good. I love that you can get powerups for your points. Keep up the good work!

By KidFriendlySoftware on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

I haven't updated this game for about a year. If you have some suggestions, let me know

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

I have a correction the game was updated three weeks ago. Yes, I am a know-it-all. Sorry. I love the challenging part of it when music is in stereo. Also, I would like more music. I love these musical lilly pads and my frog is cute and fun. I have a stupid question. How does gameplay look for sighted? I got my friend playing Mahjong and she actually did it and the tiles are numbers. She played flappy too. So I am curious on how it will look like. I want my staff to try this and see if they can beat my high score.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

In reply to by Sabrina

For hopper, it's the letters A and B- one that moves left to right, the other that moves according to your phone.
For flappy, its a dot that bounces from the bottom to the top when you tap, and then falls, and the pipes are vertical lines with an opening somewhere - the middle, the top, the bottom. You have to line up the dot with the opening.

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

Hello. I actually have a sugesion. When using the less talk and sound effect, I actually cannot hear my powerups and I don’t want to hear my score all the time so this is why I have it on. So for example if I use a gust of wind I cannot hear this.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

In reply to by Sabrina

How do you suggest the game should change?

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

I think it should be possible to hear when you use powerups like gust of wind or anything even though I am using less talk and soundeffects because this is a very immportant thing, to make sure for example if I am using a gust of wind wich is automatically used and I don’t want to go back to the main menu and check. Not in mid game because I don’t want to bank that little. Thanks for responding to my feedback.

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

I think it would be cool if the levels were unlockable instead of being available from the start.

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 20:42

Also I apreciate that the levels are endless. And I have set up a score target with myself to have before playing level two.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 20:42

I had some requests to add more levels to Hopper. For me to do this, I need some ideas.

If you have played hopper before, I can make the game operate the same way, but with a different animal than a frog, and different attackers from the ground and the sky, and different things to eat, but it would still be the same game engine, and would have the same 20 alternatives. I can add more variety of music loops representing the platform -in this case, the lily pad - that moves from side to side. But the game itself would be identical.

If you like this idea, you should complete the following:

Pick a bunch of animals that could be substituted for the following:

Main character animal (such as the frog):
What the main character animal rides on (such as the lily pad):
What the main characters eats (can be several things, such as flies):
What animal (can be several) can attack the main character from above (such as the eagle):
What animal (can be several) can attack the main character if it moves too slowly, or falls off the lily pad (such as the alligator):

You can come up with as many of these as you want.

By Sabrina on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 20:42

I have no ideas but would love more levels. I play this game every day still.e

By Sabrina on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 20:42

Maybe a rabbit? They are cute and they hop. And there could be a fox wanting to eat it. Maybe he can jump onto a bush so that it can get fruits or berries? And mayhe there are gaps that the rabbit will avoid? There could be an hawk eating it? And if the rabbit idea isn't good maybe Maybe a grasshopper? It may be jumping bhtween grass patches that move in the wind? It could catch mushrooms? I know these ideas suck. :-)
