iOS and iPadOS

I have updated to IOS 9. I do have a question, when using the emoji keyboard how do I change pages with this latest version of IOS software? Swiping with three fingers to the left/ right or any other gesture does not seem to work. Emojis are something that I use a lot so it is rather annoying that it is stuck on the first page of each category. Can anyone help please?

Holly, I flick right or left and it seems to move through the list fine.
My problem is with the emojis that have options, such as the people. You can choose various skin tones. I don't care about making a choice, I just want to add the emoji, but I can't figure out how to add it. If I double tap it just says slide finger to choose and I can't get past that.

are you flicking left and right on the screen or are you able to move/swipe through the pages of emojis? I can only navigate around the first page of each category. There's usually more than one page for each category. For example, in the people category I can only navigate around the faces, not the people or hands.
For the skin tones, I found double tapping and holding my finger down and swiping left to the one you want usually works. It sees to remember which one you use so after you've selected it once you can just enter it like you do all the other emojis. Hope this helps you Lisa

It seems to be working fine on my iPad Mini just fine, although, I did have this issue from time to time on iOS 8. A work-around that worked for me was tapping on the heading that said the name of the category on the top portion of the keyboard. I believe it's on the top left side of the keyboard. It should say what category you're currently on, and then you should be able to swipe left or right with three fingers to navigate through the pages of Emoji.

Does anybody know where the Celebration category went? I used to be able to access all kinds of birthday and holiday emojis from this category. Are they now under another heading?

I thought this too, I think they're scattered in other categories now which is a bit annoying.

Typing mode

I've found that using the roter to switch from touch typing to standard typing helps me more easily navigate and explore the emoji keyboard without accidentally typing unwanted emoji.

On a related note, I think Apple should add a search field to the top of the emoji keyboard where you could type the description of the emoji you were after. Not sure about you guys, but I often find it tedious and time consuming trying to hunt down various emoji.

I'll try using standard typing, thank you.
Yes I think a search option would be a really good idea, it'd definitely make things a lot easier.
