I installed this app a couple of days ago after hearing the demo of it on the All With My IPhone podcast. In the podcast Cory mentions some issues with how it does notifications and comments within the app. The only major issue I have found where something doesn't work quite right is when commenting on something from your own profile. It seems to activate the remove option instead. In the podcast he only mentioned the paid version but thankfully there is a free one. The only difference I could find is that the paid version offers more technical support and is also free of any ads. The screens load a little slow but otherwise the free version is working great for me!

I wish I were having the same nice experience of this app. If anyone knows what I'm not doing, please let me know. I find that when I swipe to read posts, it will skip some altogether. If I know something is missing, and go backwards, sometimes it emerges. Also, it isn't accurate that all buttons are labelled - after each post there are two unlabelled buttons. The same way some posts seem to disappear completely, sometimes these two buttons seem to merge with other unlabelled buttons, so sometimes I get the action menu I want, and sometimes I get chat or search. One thing I do really like is that you can use this app to access everything from groups to your privacy settings and I haven't found it possible to edit settings as well through any other ios app.

I have just installed this app, does anyone know how I can receive notifications?

I uninstalled the app after a few weeks of frustration. Nothing worked, and it's not me. I am almost but not quite a pro at iOs. lol! I still use the native facebook app. I have all notifications burned off on the website and on the app except for messages but that's it. For me don't even bother with this app.
