My findings so far

  1. you have to explore by touch. 2 the midi used I think was Microsoft gs I can tell.
  2. I can hear the loop in the intro music. Not good.
  3. When trying to create a character the game is almost impossible to navigate..

the x button appears to do something but not sure what. I was able to get my character created. it also appears starting a battle at level one is not even remotely possible. and as stated in the main post, there are a lot of oddly labeled buttons.

By Nolly on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 - 06:27

While it's true only "some" of the buttons aren't labeled, enough of them aren't and it makes it extremely frustrating to get started.

It would be beneficial if the people listing the app would give a small explanation of how to start the game. Character creation is self explanatory but after that, you are left unsure of what to do.

For now I am going to have to put this game aside, at least until I have more time to myself, which is a rarity for me now days.

Yes the buttons are weird, but the developer of the game are trying to make it better for us.

hello all, an update to the game will be released soon, which added all the accessibility stuff.
for how to playing the game, you need to explore the screen until you find the start button in the main menu.
then create your character, choose his class and race, then hit the create button.
how to move around: the dungeon is like a chess board.
there is a square 1 to 22. to move to a battle ring, just hit 12 and hit the battle button.
to move to the shop, on square 12, double tap on 13, then 14 twice.
to go to the next dungeon, go to square 7, 2, and 2 again.
to exit to main menu, go to the south portal by going to square 17, 22, then 22 again.

This game is free. It is not the Adventure To Fate : A Quest To The Core game. Don't buy that one as I did, it's £2.25 or $3.25 I believe and isn't that accessible. I asked for a refund because I didn't check this entry before buying the game. Silly me.

Hello everyone. I really enjoy this game. It makes me very happy to see the developer made it way more accessible.
For those of you who have had contact with the developer, any idea if he or she or they will be making the first adventure to fate game accessible as well?
Also, can you guys recommend any other games that are accessible on iOS? Besides the really known ones And not audio games. I am visually impaired and legally blind but I still have a modicum of vision. Any help is greatly appreciated as I used to be an avid gamer and I'm now constantly on the hunt for games I can play. Much love and thank you

Since the game data is saved onto your device and deleting the app also deletes all of your characters, is it safe to assume that the in app purchase for two times the gems gained also becomes lost?

This game brings back a lot of memories of the old 8 bit RPGs. I do wish that the music had a volume adjustment feature. You can choose either deafeningly loud or off and since I like the sound effects on, I always choose off.

If you are just starting out, I advise playing a melee class like the Knight as opposed to a caster class like the Wizard. The melee class is easier to learn and is also a little stronger than the caster classes available. This is of course only true if you have not purchased gems to unlock the other classes which are unavailable to a new player.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that it will cost you a gem to enter a battle you have already completed and also do not gain gems for previously completed rounds. You can however watch the ad to negate the gem cost as well as watch ads for buffs. The only issue I see is once the ad is finished the "X" is not clickable with voice over. There are two methods I use to close the ad. The first is turning off voice over and clicking in the upper left corner until I hear a tone letting me know I closed the ad. The second is I press the home button and then re-enter the game or lock my phone and then promptly unlock it. The ads first appeared for me once I completed the first tower. Good luck.

Hi.
How do i get to my inventory to drink potions i bought and wield weapons and so on? The game seemed good and I got to level 5 or 6, but kind of got bored after a little while. How many fights do you have to fight until you complete the first tower or room?

By hanif naufal h… on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

Actually there is a cheat that let you choose an illusionist class.
In the character select screen, in the name field type touch arcade code.
Also, to all applevis editors team, please edit the usability rating to fully accessible.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

To get to your inventory section you first have to click the menu button. Once there, click on inventory. There may be some confusion as there are multiple buttons of Inventory, Crafts and Skills. One does nothing while the other takes you to the selected screen. To equip items as well as potions locate the "equip button. Once you press thiss then move on down until you find a potion or piece of equipment you wish to wear. You do not need to unequip a piece of armor or weapon before putting on another of the same slot, as it will swap it out for your new item. Skills work similarly with the exception that you have to remove a skill to make room for a new one if your available skill list is higher than the number you can take with you into battle. For example I have six skill slots, but have eight or nine skills available at my level and must choose which I want to take with me into battle . Keep in mind that some classes have restrictions on what type of weight class they can wield i.e. casters can not use heavy items.

I also forgot to mention that you can also watch the ad when looting to gain a few more bonus materials.

This game takes a lot of grinding to finish and there will be some that won't find it entertaining. I mgrew up playing these types of games and have always enjoyed them a lot. Oh and I believe it was 34 or 35 battles to complete the first tower, but after I had gotten past the 2nd or third tower I sort of lost track of how many battles each had taken to complete.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

The promo code posted above must be typed in exactly as "TouchArcadeCode". If it is not entered exactly as shown (minus the quotes), it will not work. Capitalization and no spaces are important when entering the code. Once the code is entered select the Illusionist to unlock it.

Another code that worked for me to unlock the Illusionist class for free is typing "RedditCode" in the name slot, then clicking on the Illusionist button (image). Again it must be typed exactly as shown including the R and C being capatilized without spaces (minus the quotes). You will get a confirmation sound as well as dialogue that it worked.

By Igna Triay on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

Are there any other codes that unlock classes or races?

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I personally haven't seen any other codes. I myself only managed to find the RedditCode. I had not known about the TouchArcadeCode one until Hanif posted it.

Honestly I doubt there are others as the game gives players the ability to purchase gems for real cash. The rate in which gems are spent to craft items and unlock classes and characters vastly outweigh the rate at which you gain them. That is unless you are willing to put in the time to play multiple characters just to gain gems. I'm totally fine with this as I feel people should get paid for their hard work. I will mention that I immediately purchased the double gems gained option for $0.99 and I have not had to worry about gems.

By kithri on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I see they have another adventure game that can be purchased. Does anyone know if that one is accessible to any point at all?
As for this one, I am only lvl 2 yet as I'm still figuring it out, but I like this kind of thing anyway so will probably stick with it to see what happens.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I think another poster had said it was not accessible but that may have changed, since this game at one time was not 100% accessible either.

The levels fly by once you get into it. It's mostly learning which enemy to kill first and keeping your character well equipped.

By Skhye on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

The first Adventure to Fate game, while not optimally accessible, is playable. Right now it is accessible enough to play, though the odd button labels make it challenging. I have gotten to Floor 18. I stopped playing when Battle Arena became accessible, but I plan to return to the first game at some point in the future. I hope the developer is willing and able to improve its accessibility as was done for Battle Arena.

By Jesse on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I feel really stupid asking this. I get into the battle screen and it says the battle is about to begin. How do I advance from there? I'm sure it's obvious and I'm missing something. Feel free to have a good laugh at me for this.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

Okay the way certain windows open in the games UI (user interface) often creates overlapping windows. the battle screen is one of these. For voice over purposes I will use directions as we see things and not how they may actualy be set up. Using the swipe feature does not always work while in combat, so you will need to touch the screen at certain key areas..

When you enter the battle the bottom of the screen will have a dialogue box or combat log. Just above that is your potions and skills. Once you find your potions you can use the swipe function to locate your skills, HP, SP etc. Once you have found your skills click one of them that is an attacking skill. After this you must now touch the upper portion of the screen to locate the creature you wish to fight and/or your own character name. Once this is located the swipe feature can be used again. Double tapping on the box with the creatures name and health will initiate the attack or de-buff. You do not need to click your skill again unless you wish to change your method of attack. Keep in mind that as mentioned before the battle screen overlaps the map screen, so you may have to search a bit before finding the creatures health bar, often clicking on "path" by mistake. there can only be a maximum of 3 opponents at a time, and if you kill any of them before killing the center or middle one, a slight refresh bug occurs. This is a minor cosmetic bug and is easily fixed by locating your name without a percentage bar, swiping right until you see a dead creatures status bar. This is the actual bar of the one in the middle and attacking it will refresh your screen so it will once again be shown. Do not avoid attacking the side creatures before attacking the middle creature just to avoid this bug, as often times you must kill certain creatures first. Another cosmetic bug is similar to the one I just mentioned but you will need to find the bar titled NPC 1, NPC2, or NPC 3 to get the screen to refresh. If the battle has not ended and you do not see another live creature, then you know this bug has occurred and must search for the creature still alive.

I will post more but wanted to get you up and running as experience is the best teacher. Let me know if you are still confused.

By kingdekka on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

When i equip new weapons, it still shows an empty weapon slot. Why?

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I'm guessing it's a bug but a very minor one as we can still equip our weapons. I don't even look at the names of my equipment since I always use the compare feature before equipping a new item.

By Jesse on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

In reply to by Nolly

Thank you for the detailed reply. It was realy helpfull and things are working well now. I guess what threw me off was the not being able to swipe around as normal. I guess I'm too used to it hahahaha.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

Just make sure to not neglect your characters equipment, as you will need every thing you get when you take on the 5th tower.

I will say though that luck plays a big part when fighting in the 5th tower. Not the statistical luck attribute, but real actual luck. I can get destroyed over and over and then I get that one fight where everything goes exactly right.

By Chris on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

Hi.

I recently downloaded this game and am very confused. I can create a character, but I'm stuck after that. I get a screen with a bunch of weird junk like wall, wall, path, and some other stuff. Pressing on any of the buttons does absolutely nothing. What do I do? THe only thing I can do is enter the shop. Speaking of the shop, what are the fate gems for?

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

You can only move up, down, left or right from the square you are standing on. If you are standing on the shop (since you can enter it) click the square "path" directly to the left of the shop. You will hear what sounds like a foot step. You should now be standing between the shop and battle arena squares. Going left of that square will be the "Battle Arena" which is where you will do your fighting. The only points of interest in each tower are the Vault, Shop, Battle Arena and exit and next arena portals.

Fade gems are a form of currency required to create crafted items, unlock certain races, classes, the craft skill Alchemist, and the vault. It is also used to re-enter a battle stage which you have already beaten. Fade gems are not character specific, so any you gain on one character will be available on all of your other created characters.

By Ravenpaw on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

This doesn't have anything to do with the actual gameplay, but does anybody know if it is possible to rename your characters?

By Igna Triay on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I don't think that you can rename your character. At least not that I know of. Anyway, just for curiosity, has anyone actually passed the game? I have got as far as round 124 of 125.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

I haven't yet, but it's entirely due to the tedious nature of the game. Specifically purchasing potions and then equipping those potions after battle. It's not hard to do, but when you are doing it over and over I find myself needing a break. I hate doing it so much that I won't use potions when I go into a new fight just to see what strategy I need to use, often dying in the process.

By Igna Triay on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

A good race to use if you are trying not to die so much, is the moon elf. That race heels fully after each battle. That is the race that I mostly use when creating characters.

By Nolly on Monday, July 27, 2015 - 06:27

The reason I die is not due to going into a new battle at less than full health, but because I hate using potions in combat if I have not encountered a creature before, as a lot of the time they should be killed in a certain order if you want to win. So I purposely don't use potions so I won't have to purchase and equip them every time I die in an unknown encounter. It's really equipping them over and over that gets to me because you are always returned to full health after you die, so healing is really not an issue out of combat.

I rarely play a race that does not have an innate combat ability such as the Moon Elf regeneration after combat skill. The Orc and Vampire races are personal favorites for their stun, crit damage and leech bonuses when playing melee classes. It's my personal preference to have the best chance I can give myself at winning a fight. This is again just my opinion, but out of combat skills are most often a luxury skill and not truly beneficial to winning a game.

By Nolly on Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 06:27

Has anyone noticed that certain melee skills that are supposedly high damage dealing are not worth taking into battle? For example the Monk skill Dragon Strike costs 3 stamina yet has a very poor stamina to damage ratio. In fact it's so bad it does less than Spirit Strike does, which costs 1/3 the cost. I'm curious if the damage is linked to your characters strength or your weapons base damage.

I forgot to mention that I had completed the game awhile ago. My only disappointment was that I was forced to not wear my experience increasing gear for the frozen tower due to the difficultly, so I was unable to get to level 30. I was approaching the game wrong, which is why I died so much and why it took me so long to finish. Once I figured things out, it's actually fairly easy. My second time around I only died four times on the Frozen tower stage, two of which came from crushing blows for nearly 700 points of damage.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 06:27

Have you tryde beating the game using a illusionist? I got as far as the three frozen flyers. I'm trying again, though.

By Nolly on Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 06:27

I have not gone very far with an Illusionist. Right now I am trying with a Rogue, which is tricky at times due to their squishiness from their lack of consistent high front end damage. I haven't died yet, but if I don't figure out which gear is best for them, I might be waking up drowsy a lot in the near future.

I will give Illusionist a try again, but it will be after I finish up with the rogue class.

By Nolly on Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 06:27

Well, tower 1 - 4 was painful due to the resist rate, but the illusionist is extremely strong over all. So strong that I am half way through the Frozen tower and it's been fairly smooth going.

If you are just starting out, start with the Illusionist and then the Monk when you are able to unlock it. These are two of the strongest classes in the game. It's close, but if I had to pick between the two, I would choose playing the Monk.

**Special note**
Apparently you can level beyond 30, as I just did it yesterday and I am now level 31.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, August 27, 2015 - 06:27

If I had to choose between the illusionist and monk, I would choose the illusionist. Yes it is harder sometimes, however there are hits extremely powerful. Four example, I was playing the fifth tower, and I was fighting the frost wolf shaman. It summon a frost Gollum, and it swung for 500 and something damage. When I return the favor with avenge, The damage was not 500 and something it was 1100 and something because of this I managed to win the battle. Only my opinion though. Oh, and just for curiosity why do you prefer the monk?

By Nolly on Sunday, September 27, 2015 - 06:27

The Monk overall is just well balanced, but it's primarily due to their damage output. Without the Boots of Quickness or Boots of Speed, their stamina is 5 during combat. and 6 if I need to equip them. My base damage with Spirit Strike is around 125 with every third attack doing double damage (250( which only costs 1 stamina per attack. Throw in my critical chance (57%) and my critical damage bonus (217%(, enemies don't last long as I often am hitting for 250 - 500. There is also the added fact that the Monk can use Mend, which heals you without using a stamina point. Mend is also affected by crit percentage so I often heal myself for three times what it cost, so it makes SP potions more effective. For example, if I use an HP potion and it gives me 250SP, the same SP potion would have given me 250 SP which could have easily healed me for well over 500 HP using Mend. Regardless if it crit heals, it still heals me for nearly double what it cost to use normally without costing a single stamina.

To sum it up, they do massive damage, have a very good hit rate, can heal themselves very effectively and have very good stat boosting skills which make them hard to hit. Don't get me wrong the Illusionist is not bad, but the resist rate and cost of certain skills was frustrating at times.

By Igna Triay on Sunday, September 27, 2015 - 06:27

Yeah. On another level, I find that the only way of getting to level 31 is by when you are fighting the mother of Frost, the game gets stuck and you passed the last levels. It is pretty odd. By the way, I finished the game with the illusionist. I will now try to finish it with the monk. Honestly with the illusionist I don't know how did I even defeat the frost Lord, but I manage it. .Lol

By Jen on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 - 06:27

This game looks awesome, but I would love to see a podcast for how to get started. I created a character, and I'm doing a lot of swiping and tapping around the screen, but I don't have a good grasp of how to play. I thought I was creating an elf druid, and I somehow got a wizard. I managed to level up once, but I'm not even sure about much of what happened to get me there. If anyone is aware of a podcast, please let me know.

By Missy Hoppe on Friday, November 27, 2015 - 06:27

I agree with the person who requested a podcast on this game. There have been some insiteful posts here, and I'm figuring out a few things through trial and error, but still... If someone who really knows what they're doing could record a little waqlkthrough of sorts, that would be great! I can tell from reading that many, many accessibility features are already in the game, but it seems that it's jut not 100 percent there yet; thinking of screens that overlap eachother most specifically. Anyway, it's no Solara, but it's been fun to play around with.

Above where it says the battle is about to begin, there are options for skills you can use and the enimies to use that skill on, first tap on the skill, then go up untill you find the enimy you want to use this on and click on that person. charactor

Hey everyone,

Before I talk about my Dropbox recording, to use a weapon you must equip it first. The weapon will usually be used in your attack skill, it will not pop up in the skills list because it is being used in a skill.

Ok, now to my Dropbox recording. I did my best to talk about the different menus and stuff of Adventure to Fate Battle Arena. If there is any suggesttions, please contact me via my AppleVis direct message.

Hi, all. I tried taking your advice about traveling through the paths, but I'm getting nowhere. I've started out on the stone path, which is not a button, andthe other path buttons don't work, and neither does the shop button. I was only able to battle by first activating a "battle ring" button and then entering the arena, but I can't seem to move around. I have a bit of gold and need to enter the shop as well.Last but not least, nothing shows up in my inv when I acquire loot, and I have no way of knowing what those items do. I know this is a lot of stuff, but any help would be appreciated.J

I also need some help with this game. Actually, I have never been able to figure out how to start the game. LOL. I feel kind of foolish about this, but, as much as I have tried to start playing this game, I just can't figure out how to do so. Any help will be appreciated.

in terms of rooms; the shop is always on room i believe 14 or 15, to enter it you have to go to say, room 13 first, and then 14, and press it again

I don't see a room 14 or other numbered rooms. Right now, I'm in the dungeon arena, (round 7) and I see buttons labeled Wall, Path, Battle Arena, Shop, Menu and an unlabeled button as well as a section labeled stone path. For a while the Battle Arena button worked, but now I can't get in there. I can't exit the Arena Portal and the shop doesn't work.I thought it might be something to do with the paths, but I don't know which way to go if I don't know which ... um ... location my character is in. Someone got pretty far in the game, the 5? tower I think, so they know something we don't. :) Anyway, who has some thoughts?

First, a tip: turn on vertical navigation. If you are on the battle ring, when you see the button, flick right then double-tap, then do that again to go to the shop. Think of it like this, when you ale one room, you can only move one room at a time north, south, east or west.

Hi,
I just started the second arena. I've been going to the first arena to level up my character. Is there a certain amount of times I can fight in the first arena? After a while of fighting in the first arena the start button for a battle to start is dimmed. I've to close the app and reopen it.
Thanks,
JoAnn
