Accessibility Comments

There is a user guide that pops up the first time that you load the app. The guide is not read, but the interface is simple enough that you should have no trouble figuring it out. There is also one slider on the main player screen that I am not sure what it does, but it does not, in any way, detract from the enjoyment of your music.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

Being a singer, I wanted to test out how my recordings would sound in several different concert venues. This blew me away. At the time of this entry, the app price is $0.99. I also have recently made contact with the developer about the miner accessibility issues. Enjoy, and rock out! If you want to learn more about this app before purchasing, make sure and check out livetunesapp.com.

Hi. I thought this app sounded great and was anxious to try it. It's well laid out and easy to deal with, there's just one major problem for me. It doesn't work, that is, none of my music will play. I am a user of iTunes Match but I naturally made sure to try the app with music which was stored on my phone. However, even with tracks I had freshly downloaded I kept getting the same unable to play this track message. There are no settings to alter that I can find, maybe the user guide could enlighten me but as I am unable to read it I'm feeling completely in the dark and not a little annoyed. I'd really be interested to know if anyone else has encountered this problem and even more interested to know if anyone's solved it. Smiling.

As a singer and musician as well I'm willing to try this app, but I'll wait until there are a few more comments. it sounds pretty cool and an easy way to test dry recordings so you can know what youa re looking for or what might or might not sound good in what ever situation.

Hi.

I've discovered what the unlabelled slider mentioned in the accessibility comments section is for so I thought I'd enlighten you all. It increases or decreases the volume of the crowd. if you set it to 0, all sound effects will be disabled so you can just listen to your music through the reverb.

Hello, this is a very strange app and is quite good fun. Hearing a symphony with cheers and wistles in the background is really hilarious. Now down to something you might not be aware of. When you play a piece of music or something you want in a live atmosphere, it copies the track thus using up valuable space on your phone or iPod. I discovered this while looking at some "qas" from another app I have installed. Another thing I found was that swiping upwards over the music playing doesn't make anyone cheer at all. Good fun just be aware that it uses up space. Thanks.

Finally, an app update. There are still miner errors such as not being able to swipe up to get the crowd to go crazy like when a song first starts. Also, the new swiping gestures for left and right to advance or go back through the music tracks do not work. I have again spoken with the app developer and he has promised to look into how to make these parts accessible for VO users. All that being said, this is still a great app! What's New in Version 2.0 MAJOR UPDATE! We are proud to present LiveTunes 2.0! - All new iOS 7 design! - 3 brand new venues! This app is now completely accessible. On the bottom of the "now playing" screen is a button which is purposefully unlabeled which just reads "button". When you hit this while a song is playing, it will make the crowd go crazy. Next to it is a button that says "controls". Choosing this button will cause additional controls to come up on the top of the screen. Big thanks to Mark Hill, the app developer, for getting these awesome extra features working and being so willing to work on this.

Hmm this sounds cool. I already add reverb and already master my tracks so hope this won't detract..

Take care.

Can anyone do a podcast? How does the app work? Can anyone do a podcast on it?
Thanks!

By sockhopsinger on Friday, July 24, 2015 - 21:56

Try it out and play around with it. It's very similar to the music app. The only unlabeled button, which makes it easy to identify, is one that when you hit it, the crowd volume raises to a loud cheer for whatever venue is selected. IF I knew how to do a podcast, I would do one.

By Fluffymaster on Friday, July 24, 2015 - 21:56

I just looked in the app store but there isn't a free version.
Should I buy it?
Thanks!

By Fluffymaster on Friday, July 24, 2015 - 21:56

This app is awesome a and really cool, but I have one problem: I bought one venue as an in app purchase. The in app purchase was done with downloading, but I couldn't find it.
Can anyone tell me how I can solve this problem?
Thanks

It depends on how much you like music. My suggestion is to go to their website, http://www.livetunesapp.com and listen to the tutorials. They are very well described. I think this app is wonderful. One note, however. Songs you download to your phone from the Apple Music part of the music app will not play in LiveTunes as they are protected. If you buy the song through iTunes, that will change. Also, these guys are really responsive to questions.
