Hi Everyone,
I have read many posts and reviews about the iOS app Voice Dream Reader.
I am unable to understand how Voice Dream Reader is different from iBooks apart from the Google and Dropbox integration and a few extra text to speech voices.
Can anyone help me understand the differences? Thanks!

iBooks
For starters, iBooks only deals with e-text but now it will read apple's protected M4B books now as well. Other than that, its fairly restricted IMO. Voice dream on the other hand reads everything including daisy and bookshare books.
A world of difference.
Ibooks is made for all. It does have accessibility but is not tailored for visually impaired or blind. that does not detract from it a great deal but Voice Dream Reader is made with the above mentioned in mind.
As the last poster mentioned it gives access to all the formats given in an easy to use layout.
Audio
Voice dream tends to treat ebooks as you would audio books. It works with the lock screen transport controls, the voices are much better, the accessibility is much better. I can go on and on. Definitely worth the purchase. Oh and you can lock your screen too which is kind of a big thing when you are traveling.
What about books with protected content?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not aware that Voice Dream Reader can 'play' content that is protected? That means content like IBooks e-books or IOS audio will not play on Voice Dream reader. I guess that also goes for Amazon books, Audible audio books and other commercial content like that. I do wish though that Commercial suppliers allow Voice Dream Reader to play protected content sometime in the future because it is far more accessible than most..

.... the TTS is better? I do
.... the TTS is better? I do not think so if you're using Brazilian Portuguese.
This is what prevents me from buying the app. As far as I know it is possible to use the voiceover voice which would really be good but if you use the voiceover voice you kind of loose the hability of locking the screen, advancing and rewarding texts, and so on.
May be one day they will bring eloquence to the party ..... if they could do it ... man I would really enjoy.
RE: The TTS is better
Splyt, I have just tried out the iOS American English voice. When it was running, it did not prevent me from locking the screen. I obviously cannot say if this is true of the other iOS voices, but I believe they should all work the same way. Perhaps others will conduct similar experiments.
VoiceDream Reader
Hi Ihave to agree with Sakopsinjer on this one because as far asTTS voices go I have to say that the TTS voices offered on VOICEDREAM reader are better because unlike other similar mobile reading apps I've tried in tthe past VOICEDREAM reader gives you a wide selection of voices to choose from don't like the default voice VOICEDREAM uses to read your texts? well, their are many other voices you can choose from such as SHAREN WILL happy, Will Bad Guy, amongst others that you can purchase.
