iOS and iPadOS

Hi folks,
I am aware of what Pandora is, I've known about the service for years. Someone recently asked me if I've used it, and told them I had not. It got me interested in the service and knew the PC was not that accessible which is why Hope for Pandora was created. I was curious whether Pandora for IOS was, so read the app entry which I found here on this site. It had said there were some issues, and that doesn't scare me away, but it was as of 5.5 amd there were two pages of comments. Jumping to page two and going toward the bottom, saw a 6.1 for ipad and some thoughts.

After I did this, I jumped on their site to see if I could do something without an account to see how it worked and it did play a couple of tunes. My question I guess is this. Do i need to sign up for an account to use the app, or does it work like the site where I can just use it? I'm not so concerned about liking music, telling them I hate it, I would use it like another music app. I've already got Radium and Tune In, and would use it as another music source. If I had time, myaybe I'd tell it what I'd like and didn't, but not so concerned about that at this time. Thought I'd ask before jumping in to all of this. Thanks.

Hi Chuck, I read the articles you submitted to me. So i do need an account to use the app then? From what I read here, it was usable, but thought I'd try a different app. Don't know if I'll pay, but I did see a $3.99 option in the list of in app purchases on the app page on the phone. I'll be looking to give this a try.

Hi
I think in order to use the app you have to sign up with them, that is create an account. But you don't have to pay if you don't want to. I think Pandora One just takes off the adds.

What are the differences between the $3.99 and $4.99 options? I assume the signup process is simple, so I'll take a look.

Once you create an account, you can login on all your devices, I.E. iPhone, iPad and PC, and all your stations, likes and dislikes will be reflected on all devices. This is free, but if you subscribe via the in app purchase your Pandora will have no advertising, with an uninterrupted music flow.

I have Pandora on my iPhone, iPod, iPad, PC, Roku box on three TVs,and my Amazon Echo.

That's a lot of ad free music for $4.00 a month!

BTW I am 61 years old, and many years ago I said that hell would freeze over before I would pay for radio. :)

Yes, someone and I are discussing that very thing via text. Someone needs to pay the bill, we can't always expect free, however, apple has so much money they shouldn't need to charge for quite awhile and they will. Each service will target each person, and I'm not against paying if its something I like. I never wanted the iphone, but I got stuck with it after my other phone fell apart, and I couldn't get android to work for me. I was familiar with an ipod and just understood how to use the phone. Was it easy to sign up with the phone, or should I sign up over the web? When i heard of the service, the web wasn't all that accessible.
