I am looking for a OCR reader for use at work. My accessibility technology advocate recommended Fine Reader Pro by ABYY, but on the app store it only received a review of 2.5 stars. Does anyone use Fine Reader Pro or have a better recommendation? I am totally blind and am planning on using the software in conjunction with a scanner to perform administrative type duties.
Thank you in advance.

RE: OCR Reader recommendations
Hello Jim - I use ABBYY FineReader Pro and am generally satisfied with the product's accessibility, features and results. More details are in my AppleVis app entry. A free 30 day trial version is available from ABBYY's website: http://trial.abbyyusa.com/download-frpro-mac-free-trial
At least two other Mac OCR apps are reviewed here on Applevis: DocuScan Plus and Prizmo. I've not personally tried either of them.
Thanks for the reply
Bryan,
Thank you for the information. It is also nice to know that there is a trial. I really don't want to make a $120.00 mistake. I will also look for the reviews for the other two apps you mentioned and see what others have to say.
Best Regards,
Jim
