My MacBook Pro Voice Over Man Reads Whatever He Wants to On my Screen

I don't know how to control him! I would think if I clicked my mouse somewhere Voice Over would read from there, but it does not work that way. Is there some way to make that happen?

Also, I don't understand the difference between Voice Over Cursor and Mouse Cursor.

The VO cursor is an imaginary cursor. It selects the object the voiceover screen reader is acting upon. If you're using voiceover cursor and do a vo space the object under vo cursor will be activated. If you do a vo right or left the read object is where vo cursor is placed.
The mouse cursor is only what it is called, the pointer that moves with the mouse.
It is perfectly possible that the vo cursor is placed somewhere and the mouse cursor is at a different place on screen.
If you have tried an idevice before think a little about this: by swipping it's perfectly possible that you are making the gesture on some part of the screen and the object selected by vo cursor is at a different place on that same screen.

If you're blind you shouldn't be using a mouse. If you are partially sighted trying to use voiceover to read this way isn't really a good idea, because zoom which is the Apple magnifier would probably serve you better I supose .... the command to read everything from vo cursor on is vo + a.

All of us on this list at times must take a step back and remember that we were once like you: The new user. It may have been the IPhone, Windows computer, or a Mac computer. It is usually a good idea to get some assistance with the set up process to make the learning a bit less frustrating. Just remember that we have all been there.

Agreed.

Even so the fact that hwe is trying a mouse might mean that he is sighted at least partially and if so using zoom might be indeed a baetter idea.

Thank you both for your responses. I am sighted enough to see the enlarged mouse cursor, however I cannot read the text underneath the mouse. Zoom is not necessarily practical because in order for me to read it I have to zoom in so much that I can only read one word at a time. Thus, my need for voice over. In my perfect world Voice over would read whatever the mouse pointer hovered over. Is this a possibility with the current software available?
