I'm using an APH refreshabraille 18 with my 5S iphone (ios 8) with Voiceover on. I cannot figure out how to close apps using the braille display. Thanks for your help.

To bring up the App Switcher, press Space+H twice quickly, it says 'App Switcher' briefly and then you can navigate through the apps with the Joystick. To close an app, press up or down on the Joystick, the first option should be Close (if not, use the rotor -- Space+Dots 5, 6 or 2, 3). It says it briefly on the display, but you can still press in the Joystick or a cursor routing button when it has disappeared. The app name then disappears, which means the app is now closed.

I haven't 'dared' updating my 4s, so if this doesn't work as it did in iOS 7, I hereby apologise :-) .

All the best :-)

When in the app switcher, find the app you wish to close, and then simply press space with 1-4-5-6. The display will indicate the app is being closed. No need to use the rotor.

Another way to close apps whith a refreshabraille is to press spacebar and H and joystick down until Vo says close and the name of the name of the app. keep on pressing the joystick until Voiceover says home.
