On Skype for Mac, when not using headphones, the other person or people on the call can hear VoiceOver speaking. Does anyone know if there's a way of stopping this from happening?
unless you use another sound card and have voice over set to be sent to that sound card, I don't think so. Unless you wanna turn off speech and just use braille.
Headphones really are the best solution for this problem long term. You could perhaps mute VO and use a Braille display, r something, but that might not be practical. In general headphones are a good idea regardless of V.
There is really a no way to cancel out VoiceOver speech unless you output the VO to a different output. Unfortunately Skype doesn't provide VO cancellation like FaceTime which cancels out VO sound so the other end you are talking to doesn't hear what you are doing. However in case of Skype I always have to wear headphones to make others not listen to my speech.
Hope to see this feature on the later version of Skype.
Hello!
Let me emphasize that you will need USB headphones in order for this to work. If you use headphones with the normal 3.5mm jack, the other person/people will still be able to hear VoiceOver.
I've noticed that .I think it's because VO bleeds through the headphones and is captured by the mic, if the headphones have a mic on them. rather annoying.
