Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I notice when my mini jambox is connected voiceover seems to be more sluggish when swiping or just navigating in general. It's odd because it only happens when the jambox is connected. When I turn it off vo is fine. I have a 5s running 8.3 but I've also noticed this behavior in 8.2 as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks

not VO
actually, it's not actually voiceOver that's being more sluggish, but your whole sound. it has a slight lag when going through bluetooth to a speeker. so it's actually not the phone lagging, just your audio it self. this happens on my bluetooth headset as well. it's a little annoying, but is usable.
Bluetooth Connection
Hello Troy,
The sluggishness you're experiencing is most likely related to your phone being connected to the speaker via Bluetooth. I've experienced this same thing with multiple iPhones connected to a Big Jambox since iOS 6, so this is unfortunately completely normal (if undesired).
Another kind of sluggish this
I am familiar with the normal slight hesitation or latency That Bluetooth introduces into audio on the iPhone.
However , I would like to talk about a different kind of sluggishness in voiceover on some Bluetooth audio devices.
I recently tried a Sony Bluetooth headset and found it not workable with voiceover because: there would be extreme lag when moving my finger around the screen before voiceover would say anything. Plus, it was very choppy. The only remedy was to play music at the same time. Then voiceover would behave normally.
I've also had exactly the same symptoms with a pair of Bluetooth desktop speakers by Canton.
Both happened under iOS seven. Since I returned both sets I cannot test with iOS 8.
I am reluctant to try other Bluetooth devices since some cannot be returned if they've been used. this only happened with two Bluetooth audio devices so hope I don't have any problems in the future with others.
Which bluetooth is best?
I find lots of latency in bluetooth audio devices. Some are far worse than others. Some even have trouble with VoiceOver braking up and hardly work at all unless music is also streeming. I've tested a few devices. My current bluetooth speaker, a Sony SRS x 33 is a bit more than average and barely tolerable. I kept the speaker because it sounds so good.
