VoiceOver and Final Cut Pro or iMovie

Hi, guys.
So, one of my teachers has assigned a video project for our final... I'm kind of freaking out, because I've tried to play around with iMovie and the trial of Final Cut, but I just don't know how easy it will be to do this. I have no video editing experience, and it is due VERY soon.
Has anyone messed about with these before? If so, what're your experiences?

It is easier to do it on your phone if you don't need a fancy movie. A lot of times people just put in relevant pictures, I suggest making an album with pictures for your project and download or take them in the order in which you plan to use them, so you can find them easily. All the buttons are labeled so you can just record VoiceOver over it and add music if you like. No need trying to mess with the Mac version if you're not into that unless you really need the more specific features. But your project could still get you a high grade if you use good information fancy effects don't always matter

Thanks for the tip. I've looked at the phone version, and it definitely seems simpler. The only thing, though: I can't seem to get the "record VoiceOver" button to work on either platform. Any ideas?

The record audio button is the second button from the bottom right of the project view. To the left og the settingsButton in I movie version 2.1.1
