Hello. I have used Windows for years, and now I have a mac. I have lots of files I have imported into iTunes, but they have names like Tittle001 and Track01. I would love to know how to rename them. Thanks in advance.
Hello. I have been a windows user for many years. Now I have a mac, and I have been importing songs and other files into iTunes. But some of them have names like Track 1, and Title 001. I would love to rename them. Please can some one tell me how to do this? Thanks in advance.
What you want to do is edit the details of your tracks.
To do this you need to open the get info dialogue box, which can be done in three ways.
1. Highlight the track as if you are going to play it, and press CMD + I.
2. Highlight the track as if you are going to play it, navigate to the file menu, and choose get info from the list.
3. Highlight the track as if you are going to play it, and do a virtual right click using VO Keys + Shift + M.
The first option is the easiest, but it is whatever you are comfortable with.
Once the dialogue box is open, you can navigate through the tabs using CMD + Tab and change the desired information.
Tracks can be selected in batches to change album title, album artist and genre.
However, song titles must be changed individually.
Thanks. I've been wondering the same thing. I just went back into iTunes and attempted to name a track. Here's my issue though. I have several CD's that are compilations of songs, but whenever I try to add the track info and such they still end up as separate tracks within iTunes. Is there a way to make all these tracks be an album or albums? The track I just edited is off of a Christmas compilation from my brother.
