This app is wonderful, how ever there were some nasties it could not get rid of no matter what I did. A right click on the item reveled, reveal in finder which was dimmed and copy. I could not remove them even when quarantined. Contacting the team never went through for some odd reason. It did get rid of all but 21 of these. Advice next time this happens? I don't see a way to view a log like in clam XAV and surprisingly Following are some of the error messages. I believe clam XAV got rid of the little bugger that has been plaguing me for a few days now.

  • Object failed to be moved to quarantine
  • Disinfect failed

Yeah odd eh? I've probably had this for months and did not know it. lol!

Take care to all.

Ok. I got hold of their team via chat and with in about 15 minutes they had an email escolated to their malware team and will help me personally fix the problem. I just hope they will not charge for it as I can't right now pay anything. I doubt it as I'm using the mac app store app and they did not say anything about encuring charges.

Hi everyone. I'm revisiting this topic. I heard from a couple sighted individuals that these antivirus and anti-malware programs actually slow down the Mac. Has anybody here found this to be true, and if so what fix have you found for it? I'm debating whether to install Bit Defender or another one on my Mac, but I thought I should ask first. Or is File Vault good enough? That seems to work well for me

File vault willnot scann for viruses and or mellware. This is just to encrypt yoru disk. and as for compuer slow downs, I'm having no issues.. Your friends were probably on older macs hence why they told you this.

I also have to add that this curent version and others before it when you hit the scann button, you you just get a dialogue. You will then get a content is empty thing. Even launching the item chooser does not help. so yeah this has major issues. I contacted the developer aboutthis I think but I don't see a change.

Hi. I just hit the space key after the empty dialogue pops up, then it asks for allowing access to the file system. then it scans. So far, I've had no issues yet, but I've only played with it for a few minutes.

Odd, that was not an obvious solution. I think I did that and it did not work. I wonder why that dialogue does not read? quite odd in my opinion.

Ok I just tried that and it worked. Again it should have said press space to continue or something. I dunno

Me either. VO kept turning on on my end, so I just hit the space bar to get rid of the dialogue box, because pressing any other key didn't do anything.

Hi.
I had a virus on my Mac which Malwarebytes couldn't detect, so I was looking for a better solution. Bitdefender is really awesome, works great with VOiceover, and most importantly: It seem to have removed the extremely annoying virus I had.
However, you need to check if it try to remove some wrong files. It was trying to remove some important Windows programs from my external program. But the program is fully accessible, so it's just a matter of paying attention...

I just got this app and it is currently doing its thing. Seems very accessible with VO. I really debated about this one, but after receiving something this morning that had my mother's email address as the header and then calling her I thought I should get it. Turns out I'm not the only one who got that email, and she was very apologetic as I knew she'd be. Anyways, I'm keeping this app at least for the time being.
