twitter problems

Hi. I am using the official twitter app and having some problems. I used to just use Safari and login to the twitter website to read my tweets. However, with iOS 8 came a bunch of safari bugs including one where when you get to the end of the first page of tweets and you click the load more tweets button, it will not work. It does not matter if you double tap, double tap and hold, triple tap or stand on your head and wave your feat in the air. It stays on the first page of tweets and will not load more. So safari is only good for reading a few tweets and if you don't check them often enough and you get more then one page of tweets built up, you're out of luck. You can't see them. With iOS 7 and before the load more tweets button worked just fine and you could read pages and pages of tweets until the cows came home. I posted on here about my problem and did not get a solution, so I ditched safari and downloaded the official twitter app. I am having 3 problems with it. The first is that when I first opened it it did what most apps do and asked for permission to send me notifications. I said yes. I have been using the app for about a week and have not gotten a single notification when someone tweets. So how do I set it up to get push notifications for tweets? The second thing is that I can't click links in tweets. I tried double tapping a link and instead of opening the link it gave me a share tweet page and it was not even a page to share the tweet that contained the link I tried to click. It was just a share page for a different random tweet. And it was something I really wanted to read to. The third and most annoying problem is that I will do a 2 finger swipe down to start continuous speech to read my timeline and it will read a few tweets, then just make the popping sound it makes when there is nothing else on the screen and stop reading even though it has not reached the end of the timeline. I have looked and have not found a load more tweets button. What I have to do to keep reading my timeline is do a few 1 finger swipes left, then do another 2 finger swipe down. Then it re-reads a few of the tweets that I had already read, then reads a few new ones, then pops and stops again. Then I have to repeat that insert a bunch of bad and inappropriate words here process again and again and again. In this way I eventually get all my tweets read, but it's very frustrating and requires a lot of messing around and re-reading stuff I already read. So my question, is there a better way to read the timeline in the official twitter app or should I hit the delete key on it and get something else? If I have to get something else, I want the timeline to look the same way it does on Safari. Newest tweets first and then going down to the older ones. And I am not at all interested in twitter's while you were away feature. I want to read all my tweets, not just the ones twitter thinks will interest me. Thank you.

Hi there, have you tried Twitterrific? it's a very intuitive app for the iPhone or iPad, it's available on the app store.

Hi Jessica:
Regarding to your questions and issues that you are facing using the official twitter app Let me start saying whobeen using it for a while and will try to answer to your questions:
first is that when I first opened it it did what most apps do and asked for permission to send me notifications. I said yes. I have been using the app for about a week and have not gotten a single notification when someone tweets. So how do I set it up to get push notifications for tweets?
I remember this when installed and set it up for the first time try close the app using app switcher and turn off your device and waith for couple minutes and reboot it, this will help and also just remember that when the official twitter app is opening it means on use I'm not talking about running on the background when you are reading your timeline or other part of twitter will not play the sound notification.only it will play sound notification when you are outside from the app or when the screen is lock.
second thing is that I can't click links in tweets. I tried double tapping a link and instead of opening the link it gave me a share tweet page and it was not even a page to share the tweet that contained the link I tried to click. It was just a share page for a different random tweet. And it was something I really wanted to read.
Seens as you are doing triple tap and it will opening some extra options.
pressing double tap on the tweet who include the link will open a second window on this new screen there all kind of information and the link is just below of
user name who posted the link
and if right below of the text if the link include text.
also on this screen there also the options to
reply
retweet
favorite.
also when you open the link will show couple option label as buttons
close button to go bck
and more actions button
to share or opening in safari.
and the last question
The third and most annoying problem is that I will do a 2 finger swipe down to start continuous speech to read my timeline and it will read a few tweets,
voiceOver only read the last 4 or 5 lines if you want to read more lines you need to have the process mention above flick left or right .

Hi. If you want to get notifications for tweets. Click on the persons twitter page you want to be notified of tweets. Then click "Profile actions when you are on the page. Once your there click "Turn on notifications. After you do that twitter notifys you when that person tweets. Hope this solves one problem.

I want notifications for everyone and don't want to have to set them all up one at a time.

Hello Jessica,

The following steps will show you where you can set up a variety of notifications that you can use.

1. Open the Twitter app
2. Double tap the lower Right corner that says "Me" tab
3. Find the Settings button and double tap
4. It will now say Settings button again. Double tap again.
5. Find your Account Name. It is located one swipe right of the Account Heading. Double tap on your Account Name.
6. Find the Mobile Notification and double tap on this

You will find the Mentions, ReTweets, Favorites, New Followers, Direct Message, and etc. Just double tap to make them to be turned on/off.

Remember that Twitter will not notify you for each tweet made in your Main Timeline. You must set this up invidually if you want this feature to be turned on. All other kind of Notifications will work just fine in with I have mentioned above.

Hello Jessica,

As mentioned above. To simply open a link from a Tweet. Just do the following:

1. Do a double tap on the Tweet with the link
2. From here. Swipe until you hear the option for New Tweet. From here swipe again to the right. This will be the person that had Tweeted the link. Swipe right again and you will now be to the link with in the Tweet. Just double tap this and it will now open up the link for you to read.

If the main Twitter app has too many problems, I suggest using Twitterrific or Tweetlogix to interract with Twitter. I currently have Twitterrific as it uses Push notifications, but Tweetlogix does run a bit snappier on older phones and I believe you can set it to notify for everyone on your home timeline if you wanted to.
