The keyboard layout on iDevices is in the QWERTY style. In the lower lefthand corder you will find a button labeled "More" button. this is a toggle between letters or numbers and cymbols.
In my personal experience, the best way to determine the placement of keys on the iDevices is to open an app such as the messages app and create a text to someone. Then, just drag your finger across the rows of keys until you become famioliar with them. Another way to accomplish this is to do a one-fingered swipe to the right or left across the rows.
Perhaps someone else will know whether or not an app exists to help in learning the keyboard.
Hi,
in my 4 years of experience with an i device, I have not found an app that is used for this purpose. However, like Roxann said above, it is in th qwerty layout, so if you have the computer keys down, it's pretty easy. Just swipe or drag across the keyboard to find where each key is. I also find having an external bluetooth keyboard is very helpful to type texts. I have a logitech keyboard that works with an iPhone very well.
