Interesting bug with direct touch typing enabled

Hello everyone:

I'm just writing to share a bug that I've noticed when texting with direct touch typing enabled. When I'm in an edit field in the messages app and get an alert while typing, direct touch typing seems to stop working. For instance, if I'm texting and I get the 20% battery remaining alert, I dismiss it and then try to continue texting. The consequence is that the typing mode seems to revert to standard typing in this instance. Direct touch typing is still enabled in the rotor, because I never change it, so what I have to do to correct the situation is to cycle through the typing methods quickly until I land on direct touch once again. If I don't want to do that I can also press home and then tap messages again to come back to the text. Direct touch resumes normal functioning once I do either of these things. Has anyone else noticed this? It's not a big deal, but I just found it interesting.

Hello Victoria,
I've noticed the same thing. Direct touch as a whole seems to be fairly Buggy.

Hi,
I had this issue plenty of times. Although direct touch typing is a great feature, there are a few things that sometimes don't work as we would expect. This is one of the issues I found, but also I found that the double tap and hold on the record button when direct touch typing is on doesn't work.
Not sure if anyone else has noticed this?

I usually use the raise to listen and raise to record features, so I haven't tried to double tap and hold the button with direct touch typing enabled. I'll have to try it.
