Can anyone help me and my wife use Uber? I swear the Annonimouse did a podcast on it, but I can't find it. Wife is having problems with seting up the location otions for a ride. She just created an account. My guess it doesn't work here. Thanks.
I have always found Uber to be user friendly, so on reading your post, I updated the Uber App (IOS 8 on an iPhone 5) and gave it a run.
I don't live in an area serviced by Uber, so my initial impression was that it was indeed broken. While it recognised my address, it gave me no indication of car type or services. The screen seemed filled by a non responsive map..
However, when I manually entered a pick up address in an area I know to be serviced by Uber, the App quicly updated with available car types and their ETA.
If you are unable to make the App work, may I suggest the following:
1. Check the Uber website and confirm that they operate in your locale.
2. Test the efficacy of the App by manually entering your address somewhere you know that there is coverage. Try entering Sheraton on the Park, Sydney. For my test it quickly found the Elizabeth Street address and supplied info about the different classes of Uber Car available.
3. Check that the App has the necessary permissions in Location services etc

Latest release seems to be working.
