Hey fellow mac users, what is the most accessible app for recording, and fairly simple audio mixing/editing? I know garage band, audacity, and reaper all exist, but Not sure which is most accessible. Or if there’s an app I don't know about please let me know. I have feeling the answer will probably be garage band. Are there any decent guides written with accessibility in mind? I'd take audio guides too, though I do prefer written if they exist? I'm not looking for real complicated to start, I'm not intending this project to be very complicated, just want to record something, and mix it with an existing instrumental. I've done a bit of editing before, but almost all of that was with goldwave on windows. Any suggestions/hints people can send my way would really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nehemiah

I have Pro Tools as I've just finished sound production at college. Its accessible before but after version 11.1 is most accessible. It takes a while to get into everything and work out where everything is but it's worth it in the end. Recording, mixing and mastering are as simple or as complicated as you want to make it though very accessible. Editing is a bit tricky at first and you'll probably need a few pointers but there is a Google group called pro tools access where everyone helps each other well. Its not the cheapest option by any stretch but I've just heard avid are releasing a free cut down version called pro tools first soon so you could try it out and see what you think. A cheaper alternative is Amadeus from the app store. I've not had a chance to try this yet but I believe it is fairly accessible. There are a couple of other posts on Applevis discussing this subject in more detail. HTH
