I bought the KNFB Reader app through iTunes for my brother and mistakenly downloaded it to my iPhone. Does anyone know how to get it off my phone and put it on his phone? Would appreciate any help you could give. Thanks.
If you both use the same Apple ID, then you can simply go to the purchases tab in the App Store on your brother’s phone and download the app.
However, if you have separate Apple IDs things aren’t going to be easy. The only real option would be for you to contact Apple, explain what happened, and hope that there is some way for them to transfer the purchase to your brother’s Apple ID. Whether you have any success might depend on who you speak with and how helpful they are feeling. Even then, it’s possible that Apple simply doesn’t have a mechanism in place to do this.
Just log in to your account on his phone and download the KNFB reader app to it. It should work pretty easily. Just remember to log back out after you're done.
It sounds to me like you bought the app on your phone with the app store app. If you setup family sharing I think you can just download the app on your brother's phone as if you were using the same Apple ID. I wouldn't recommend simply logging in with your Apple ID on your brother's phone to download the app. Even if it works, Apple tags iTunes purchases with the Apple ID the purchase was made with, which can make a future backup or restore difficult without your Apple ID. For future reference, if you want to actually spend money in iTunes for someone else, use the "share" button and select "gift" as the sharing option. For gifting to work, the recipient needs to use the same iTunes and app store as you, which I assume is the case in your situation.
I suggest you contact Apple (if you and your brother don't share an Apple ID) and see if they will let you either convert your purchase into a gift, or get a refund so you can make the purchase the correct way.

Different Apple ID?
Hello,
Before making a recommendation, are you and your brother both using the same Apple ID? Or did you intend to gift the app from your ID to his?
Either very easy, not so easy or impossible
