My keyboard becomes unresponsive it seems when trying to use things like dictation or commands that require two presses of a key. If I hit a key twice my keyboard no longer seems to work and edit boxes or with commands. Can someone please assist me with this? I can't imagine this is a bug it must be some setting I'm not seeing. The only way to fix this is to do a restart or sometimes things get unstuck if enough time goes by.

Quick Nav
If it's what I think it might be, in iOS 8 you have to turn quick nav off while you're in an edit box. Hit your left and right arrow keys together and then you can type your thing, and turn quick nav back on. If it's something other than that, I'm really not sure.
I am in complete agreement
I am in complete agreement with the previous poster. This sounds like quickNav. Turn it off by using the left and right arrows, and a typing it in. Personally, on my mac, I don't use dictation at all, because I find i can type faster than I can speak at times, so dictation is a waste for me. Just my opinion though.
No it is not that I just
No it is not that I just tried that and try to write an iMessage I was able to send one message but then when navigating to the next person to respond when I went to type text my keyboard was again unresponsive. then when I try to go to Safari to type in a location none of my commanders are working so for example command Al would not bring anything up so that I went to menu and went down to open location to try and type and nothings happening it's like my computer keyboard is becoming unresponsive for some reason my MacBook air is no 11 inch brand-new I will be returning it if I can't fix this issue because it's very annoying to have to restart every 10 minutes for some weird keyboard lock up
It's just a really weird
It's just a really weird issue but I don't understand.
it seems to be that iMessage
It seems that iMessage is is when it is happening. I don't even have to do dictation it just seems like arrowing around in there is causing it to go crazy. Like I said it renders the entire keyboard useless in any other application. Once and a while it will be even weirder where for example in the doc I could hit s for safari but then once I'm in there I can't type or use any commands.
I don't have that isue.
I don't have that isue. Everythign is working perfect. Try loggin g out and back in, or restart voice over by envoking the trainner and hitting escape when it starts.
yes, I've had the same issue
I've also encountered this. Is your track commander on? Try turning it off and see if it makes a difference. I've got mine disabled and it hasn't happened yet.
That seem to work very
That seem to work very strange I restarted turned off the track commander and our thing is fine. Thank you that was very frustrating
I agree
I completely agree with you. Hoping this annoying problem is resolved in the next Yosemite release
Keyboard
Hi Joe and all,
Unfortunately, I found the problem of keyboard becoming unresponsive has occurred despite the trackpad commander being turned off.
