Transfering apps to various folders on I OS

I used to be able to tap and hold on an app to move to another folder.
Since I OS 8.1.1, moving apps to folders has not been possible.
Could anyone shed some light on how to move an app around and place it in to folders with i OS 8.1.1?
Is this process broken or am I missing a step?

Hi I don't use folders, but ever since 8, you have trouble moving apps. My advice, tap an app, that you don't want to move, so it's possible to start moving them. I am sure that didn't make sense, but sometimes they don't want ot move the first time. anyway maybe after you can move an app, that isn't in a folder, try moving them? I hope I haven't confused you.

Ever since iOS 8 release, if the app resides on the row above the dock then you can't move it. Apps above that row should still be able to be moved. Here are a few things that I do when trying to folderize my apps.

first, remember that, if the screen you are on is full then it's very difficult to move things.

Second, one of the easiest ways to work around all the issues is to move the apps you wish to combine into a folder onto a blank screen. It should be easy to create the folder there. Then just move the folder back to the appropriate position on the previous screen.

Finally, If you need to move an app that is on the row above the dock area, what I do is move enough apps above that row onto another screen so that the app on the row above the dock is moved up a row. Then you can interact with it as you need to.

Hope this helps to sort out some of your issues.
