Hello
I was just curious as to what Input method or custom keyboard everyone on here likes to use. I just recently updated to IOS8, and used to use Fleksy VO when I was on IOS7.

The favorite typing method I use is my apple wireless bluetooth keyboard.
At the moment I don't find use for the third party methods.

Hi. I think this is what i have, the one where you just touch a letter and lift your finger, much easier then the direct touch typing, plus to me it's more of how a sighted person would type with the exception of the lifting the finger. I can type reasonably fast. I also have a keyboar and that does come in handy but I'm not about to shlep it everywhere I go, thin or not.

Greetings:

I often use a Braille app (e.g., MBraille in the past) but now prefer to use the Braille keyboard built into iOS 8 whenever it is available--which is alas not all the time<smile>.

I can and often do use the built-in on-screen keyboard to enter passwords, credit card numbers, user names, and the like, but for longer passages of text (such as this one), I will revert to Braille.

I do understand that Braille input doesn't work for everyone and that others have different favortes--as in dictating or using an external keyboard or Braille display. I am merely reflecting my opinion and usage patterns here<smile>.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

I prefer to use the Apple Wireless Keyboard, when it is handy.

If I have to type on the touch screen, I like using the braille screen input feature introduced in iOS 8, but I have to use it in uncontracted mode since the contracted mode doesn't work quite right. Also, I can't get the braille input mode to work reliably in Safari, which really annoys me since that's where I do a lot of my typing. I thought about getting a third-party app like MBraille, but I would prefer a solution that works directly within other apps, which is the big advantage of Apple's braille input feature. If MBraille or some other third-party braille app can make a version that works as a software keyboard extension, I would definitely be interested, but I've heard that third-party software keyboards have problems with VoiceOver at present, so it may be a while before such a solution is feasible.

If I cannot use the braille input mode, I use the default on-screen keyboard, in touch typing mode. This is also how I type my passcode, unless I'm somewhere where I think someone might overhear what I'm typing, in which case I use braille screen input to type it in.

Braille keyboard input all the way. Except when I have to do some searches on the APP store. Otherwise, Braille all the way Baba

My favorite typing method is using my apple wireless keyboard.
It comes in handy when having to type step by step instructions.
