Are people using KNFBReader for help with recognizing text on things such as packaging and labels. If so, I would love to hear how it performs, as it’s mostly been discussed in terms of its capabilities for reading documents.

I know the following answer will not seem satisfactory to you but it's really the only answer possible IMO.

The answer is: it depends. If you can find the label you wish to read, if it's flat and if the contrast with the package or item on which the label is placed is good and there's no glare, KNFB reader does a reasonable job. It also can read some bottle labels and labels on other items that have some curvature. However, it's not at all uncommon for results to be less than optimal.

You would find the same to be true for any OCR app.

The user manual is very frank and honest about items KNFB Reader might or might not read well. I have had surprisingly good results on some things and abysmal results on other things.

Bottom line: if you have the appp, try it and see.
